Default HP is at 50%. With a ring it becomes 75%. If you manage to find someone else online to help, you regain body form and get full HP. This is going to be pretty rare, but not as rare as epheremal eye stones (humanity).

The game's designed around helping others online, and given that the game is pretty dead (I spend several evenings a week idling for 1-2 and 2-1 summons as i shitpost here), you're in for a hard time.Prepare to spend a lot of time at 75% HP. Magic damage helps lots.

Mmm. Depends. If it's your first, prepare to have a rude awakening to what fair Hardmode difficulty looks like and also extremely confused by some of the games more obscure features

If it's not your first, than you will still enjoy it but will come to understand what it was about this game that would make dark souls the iconic game it had become today.

A nice experiment. If it's not your first Souls game, try not to focus so much on what's missing from later entries. Look for the little things you enjoy about it. Appreciate seeing the mechanics in their most raw state. Don't use Sorcery because it is most overpowered in DeS. Have fun.

Considering it wasn't your first souls game and you didn't play it when it came out, you'll probably cry artificial difficulty and complain on /r/darksouls3

On a basic level its not as unpolished as you're going to expect, they nailed the Souls formula almost right from the start.

Key word, ALMOST. Its got some massively janky things in it, and I loathe the term, but its got some artificially bullshit moments. Dark Souls is a complete upgrade, but this is totally fine.

Basically, just try to have fun. Upgrade system is the worst in the series in this one.

Default HP is 100%. If you're doing good its at 200%. and If you use a ring its at 150%.
