I don't mean gameplay wise, but at least go back to being more down to earth and western european themed instead of whatever the hell Awakening and Fates tried to be with their designs.

I also want characters to actually matter for mission objectives. Everybody in the newer games feels like a game piece with stats and no importance to anything. Even FE1 made Marth a big deal for doing shit in gameplay like getting to villages but Chrom and Corrin might as well be anybody else when it comes to getting missions done.
