in the past when /v/ has had side boards split off from it was because the subject matter made up a significant amount of the board, /vp/ was from an era when pokemon had like 10-15 threads at a time, /vg/ was from when there was a similar problem, there is by no measure a significant amount of the board being flooded by e-celeb threads, there is often 1-2 at most, its fine to not like a subject mater but a new board is a last resort to solve a major problem. If you don't like threads about the current culture around video games than simply don't go into the small amount of threads about it.
