The reason the game didn't have a season pass is because Sony were still a little wary over whether or not it'd be economically viable to greenlight a fair amount of DLC content for a relatively niche game. When Bloodborne ended up selling well and exceeded its sales expectations, they okay'd it and assigned the Japan Studio guys to help out From with it.

I don't get this. Literally every Souls game has had both bad framerates (BB being one of the best, actually) and bad framepacing. Demon's had the worst overall framerate, nothing was worse than DaS1's blighttown, DaS2 was the best performing game but the game is shit so who cares, and DaS3 also had mediocre framerate too. It's not like Bloodborne is the outlier of the series, or FromSoft games in general.

I pity PC players, any little disturbance is enough to ruin their experience. So many gems they skip (or get "ruined") for them because of technicalities.

If you only plan on playing 1 game then BB is the best one to do that. If you are interested in playing the series then DaS1 is a good starting point, altough it is just a tad dated by this point. You should ignore DaS2 and DaS3 so the only good ones left are Demon's and Bloodborne after you are done with DaS1.

Bad frame-pacing is really only noticeable in genres like FPS and racing - games where the camera is constantly moving in one direction at a steady rate so you notice the hitches. I have never been bothered by it in Bloodborne.

To be fair, it's pretty much like an old Expansion we had pre-7th generation. A lot of content under a single release. There isn't anything about ToH that resembles the worst aspects of DLC, such as staggered small overpriced releases (DaS2/3 DLC), microtransactions or loot boxes.

It's shit. Many people praise it so much to justify their PS4 purchase. I've played all souls games except for demon's souls and bloodborne was the worst one. Hell, even dark souls 2 was acceptable with scholar of the first sin but bloodborne would need a complete rework from ground up.

the lack of weapon variety is really jarring (yes even with every trick weapon having more moves and the offhand weaponry)
the DLC adds more, but it's pretty tough and intended to be done late into the game.
i still think it's the best of the series.
it plays the best and the setting, areas, gameplay and bosses are all memorable.

Old Hunters was released six months after the game. I doubt all the development happened in that time period. The planning for the world and boss structures was likely completed well before. Yes. Aside from being superb content in it's own right, the atmosphere is incredibly good, the weapons added much needed variety, the bosses are some of the best-in-series... and it actually completely wraps up the game's narrative in a nice tidy package as all the characters alluded to in the main game are fully concluded. The story in the main game combined with the Old Hunters content is more satisfying than all 3 Dark Souls games with their 6 DLCs.

I would place ToH on the level of Lord of Destruction.
