Runs like garbage and looks worst than the lowest settings on PC, but it really works.

less crashes than the ps3 version

This was one of the first things I played through when I hacked my OG Xbox a few months ago, and I got through it mostly because it kept making me say "How did they do this...?!" over and over, what with the overall quality of the game compared to the ancientness of the console it was on.
The OG xbox was pretty much a decent mid-range PC released in 2001. You're telling me this 2004 game was so demanding it couldn't run on a 2001 PC?

it was the first place that i beat the game, my PC ran it like garbage when it came out
Guys, it's called optimization.
It's not hard to figure out.

the PC requirements were 128mb of RAM at the barest minimum- recommended 512mb of RAM. This was still the source engine. It also required a 1ghz processor I think?
the original xbox had a 660mhz processor (iirc) and 64mb ram. it was a GODDAMN MIRACLE that they got it to work on the OG xbox

Doom 3 Xbox looked better than HL2 Xbox. The thing about HL2 is that it was processor intensive back in the day, so making it run on a 733mhz Pentium 3 was impressive. They managed to keep many of physics intact.
Doom 3, Riddick and Chaos Theory all looked better than HL2. Riddick is probably the most extreme game on Xbox, they really had to do miracles.

Morrowind for the same console.

morrowind was fucking CRAZY

ikr

How was it even like on consoles? I imagine navigating the UI must have been fucking horrible

Escape from Butcher Bay looked amazing on Xbox, i played this thing back in the day and then bought a 360 and i wasn't even impressed with the 360's graphics because it looked similar to Escape from Butcher Bay.
32MB RAM.

SKYRIM on PS3 looks even worse than lowest PC settings (the trees doesn't even move) and also runs like shit, it's almost unplayable due to the increasing save files sizes.
X360 is a little bit better on terms of graphics match with PC lowest settings and also is completely playable.

Xbox specs:
>733 MHz, Intel Pentium III Coppermine CPU
>Nvidia 'NV2A' GPU, heavily based on the Geforce 3 which supported Directx 8
>64 MB DDR RAM
Half Life 2 minimum required specs in 2004:
>1.2 GHz CPU
>DirectX 7 level Graphics Card
>256MB RAM
Half Life 2 recommended specs in 2004:
>2.4 GHz CPU
>DirectX 9 supporting GPU
>512MB RAM
The Xbox's GPU can barely scrap by, but the CPU is really underpowered compared to what they wanted for the PC release, which explains why Xbox HL2 frame rate plummets when a lot of physics is going on.

Oblivion, F3 and FNV had the same issues on the PS3.
PS3 was alway a console to play exclusive games and the X360 was the place to enjoy multiplaforms with far superior and playable versions of most of the game

Mass Effect on PS3 was shit too.
Back in the day even my GT 9800 had better results runing the game.
