played some Thumper today, that game's pretty intense

I'm glad the Rift is 400$ / 500$ post-sale, it means more people will get into VR

although as a Vive owner I'm wondering what Valve is gonna do to counter the competition being 300$ cheaper

I've got a gearvr and planning on getting the psvr soon, I hope the difference is substantial though.

For me it's the games that matter so I won't be getting the rift or vice anytime soon but if the psvr isn't that much of an upgrade I'll skip it.

Got my rift this week. What games do you recommend? I'm definitely getting Star Trek and Rick and *buuuerrp*Morty

Any tips to VR? I wore the strap too tight and hot a headache. Also need to find a way to wear it so it doesn't get blurry / my face doesn't breathe inside the headset

Can't wait to get off of work so I can play some more gorn. Doesn't need tons of content to never stop being fun, murdering gladiators is always satisfying.

Clean the lenses when you can. I don't know how to adjust the Rift, since I have a Vive, but there is a "sweet spot" for placing the headset where everything looks relatively clear. It might be a bit lower on your face than you think.
If you sweat easily, it'll get blurry quickly.
Don't be afraid to use the VR comfort settings to start. If you begin to feel sick at all, stop immediately - motion sickness really fucks you up for a while, so you gotta be careful.

I remember playing the alpha demo on itch.io a while back. How much has it improved? I would play it, but I'm currently in a dorm space, so I can pretty much only do seated VR right now.

for adjusting the oculus take your hand and feel the back of your head
theres a little bump on the back of your head right below it should be where your spine starts at put the triangle on the back of the strap over that bump on your head and make it feel snug right there

adjust your headset up and down from there
it angles up and down is what i mean the top strap should be tight enough so that the top Cushion from the oculus headset should rest right above your eyebrows
the straps on the sides should adjust to how tight you want the bottom of the headset to fit

now this isnt ski goggles youre not going jogging just let it rest on your face dont strap it so tight you loose blood pressure

Does psvr without motion controls count?

Motion controls turn games into physical efforts rather than mental, which feels limiting, can't stand them. But I loved RE7 using a gamepad. That's the shit.

You gotta figure out if the games/experience are worth it ATM. For me, it was.
Valve is pushing three titles out this year or early next year, so that'll be cool.
You gotta be okay with being an early adopter of tech like this. It really helps if you've got a nice bit of room space to use it with.

Rift with touch feels really great and natural. Haven't tried many room scale games yet, but the controllers are very intuitive.
I've used PSVR once in a store, I felt underwhelmed, it was too pixelated and blurry.

Also, Soundboxing is the best VR rhythm game for PC.

Got the Vive months ago, haven't played much. Games are still lacking. Played some superhot recently, seems promising. Might give Pavlov a try too. Games are a bit pricey for tech demos.
