E-Sports is mostly sponsors exploiting players, pushing them to only play the most popular and most viewed games or else they drop sponsorship. Twitch also only encourages devs to look at the top 5 most viewed games and think "ok, how do we make our game beat those games"

To supplement that argument, devs making "E-Sports" games (Overwatch, DOTA, CS:GO, etc.) are creating games with spectators more in mind than the players. When fun isn't the main focus of the game and views are, that's where video games fucking died
