Are there any games that legitimately require a high intelligence to play?

Coordinating pushes or defenses with your team requires a brain powerful enough to quickly develop an effective strategy to ensure victory.
People of inferior capacity will simply fall short and as a result will lose as they angrily display the most primitive of behavior.

You don't sound intelligent enough to evaluate their intelligence.
Grand strategy fags... pls
take your glorified RTS elsewhere, OP asked for games requiring high intelligence

Classic RTS and Dwarf Fortress.

I've never really played EU despite owning it. I always just end up playing CK2. I know it doesn't have the dynasty management, but is it pretty much the same game?
>>383932529
Fighting games. Memorizing all kinds of combos and reacting appropriate in mere milliseconds is very complicated
EVE
>>383933985
and absolutely nothing to do with intelligence
I feel E.Y.E requires a fair inteligence to play/ enjoy.
They don't exactly hold your hand. They do give you totorial videos but none of them really go in depth on which stats do what or what starting serum affects you in which way.
The VA work is abysmal and in kraut.
>>383932529Blitzkrieg on the hardest difficulty.
>>383933174
Things like "x" - series is autopilot space trucker simulator. Combat oriented like "free space" are shooters with more movement freedom. I think spacesims are not about thinking, they are about admiring the space and technology and feel of infinty of unexplored.
Bioshock infinite
>>383932529
Probably Crusader Kings 2. I cant wrap my head around it. I gess I just want easy and quick dopamine release.
EU4/CK2 don't require high levels of intelligence. They just require understanding of the game's mechanics.
>>383933960
Old strategies are about gathering and turtuling at base, massing best unit, selecting them, sending them clear the map. If its multiplayer - you do same thing but must do it faster than FPS player.
>>383934808
Am I a pleb or could they have done the UI and control scheme much more accessible?
>>383932529
No.
>>383933985
Muscle memory only. You do not even think which button is where.
>>383934921
EU4's UI is okay, but it definitely works. CK2 has a garbage UI though.
>>383935138
Yeah was talking about CK2. Also the reason I could not get into dwarf fortress. I want to spend time learning the game itself not some retarded UI.

>>383932529
any gambling game
All games has learning curves to understand, then its all brainded muscle memory. Memorizing 100 buttons to do something is not intellect, quick micromanagement and hotkey pressing - too. Turn based stratgies like total war or heroes has one clear way to victory, you just have to manage more andmore units, just reapiting more and more times.
Battle Toads.
>>383933960
intelligence, not autism
>>383932529
Probably not a case of needing high intelligence, but I have bruteforced through puzzles in Divinity: OS by throwing characters across great distances using the teleport spell, or blown up entire surfaces to temporarily nullify a trap and run through looking for minimal damage, only to later find the actual solution and go "oh"

Dwarf Fortress.
Equally patience of a god, which usually comes with intelligence.
This is why slow people throw tantrums.
You need to have some foresight and good analysis skills to look at your world around you and make decisions on how to design your fort properly.
Fucking that up usually leads to your quick death.
This is especially true when building forts on hostile surroundings. Oh lawdy.

While it doesn't necessarily require a high intelligence to beat, I'd say that Darkest Dungeon has a very high ceiling for intellectual play. Since there's a fuckload of ways to optimize your play.
If nothing else, it's a game that fucks you if you refuse to ever give up.

Went in without any knowledge of it, I thought it was a horror game. Was scared shitless going down the dark basement and opening doors, and especially that secret passage because I was expecting something. When I got to the end it was basically like a ruined orgasm, but without the pleasure leading up to it.

Chess.
Videogame-wise, probably StarCraft BW. If you watch the top handful of players play now, they've basically mastered the physical APM aspects so that all is left is crazy strategies, mind-games and split-second decision-making.
Both are good for testing quick thinking, long-term planning, space control and unit economy and usage.
>>383932529
MOBAs and RTSs
starcraft requires crazy amounts of planning and something like LoL requires you to have an entire encyclopedia in your head

Hello, and welcome to today's installment of 'How To Be Wrong: In 10 Words or Less'

>>383932529
Hard to answer. Intelligence isn't a rigid scale, some people are much better than average at one specific kind of task. Like idiot-savants. I'm not trying to push an "everyone is unique and has their own special snowflake strengths" kind of side, but there's a bit of truth to it. I know people who are really, really fucking good at one specific kind of game who can barley function in life.
It goes beyond games, too. Some students are totally autistic but great at analytical subjects, some are naturally hyper-eloquent and can churn out essays over lunch, but can't do mental math to save their lives. It's a trade-off.
