It is really bad designed, the monsters are damage sponges.

You are basically fighting high level monsters with starting weapons, because the developers didn't scale the weapons that the enemies used.

You'll end up playing Metal Gear Solid sneaking everyone, since most of the cool strategies won't work anymore.

Or you'll just run away everything.

It is a really bad DLC with bad balance.

Also, it is not really hard, they didn't change the AI at all.
>>
>>383915609
I literally just started playing it for the first time on master mode. The beginning was tedious but after actually getting a few weapons it's a little better.

My biggest complaint is the health regeneration. It literally begins after maybe 3 seconds of no damage taken. Some enemies like yiga or lizardfos can kite you or outright disappear, leaving their health to start up again and by the time you can draw an arrow to fire or they reappear, they've regened 1/4th of their health. You can't play defensively at all or do anything cool if it's not an instant kill because they will just regenerate. You may as well never use aoe attacks like the tnt barrels or bombs unless they'll fly off the cliff.
>>
>>383915609
>You are basically fighting high level monsters with starting weapons, because the developers didn't scale the weapons that the enemies used.
You're supposed to git gud and use everything at your disposal. Cook attack+ food. Knock people off cliffs.

>Also, it is not really hard, they didn't change the AI at all.
You're retarded and don't know shit about BotW. Each progressively higher rank of enemy has better AI. Hard Mode is a comprehensive AI upgrade because it's a comprehensive rank upgrade
>>
Exactly, the enemy health gen really kills any creative way to play, because you can't really set traps multiple times, since they will regenerate their health.

You'll endup running from them, avoiding battles, or doing stealth kills. Or you'll cheese the game by throwing they into the rivers or from the mountains.

Lizalfos are the worse, they can completely regenerate their health if they start to swim.
>>
>Tfw memorized where all the Major Test of Strength shrines are for god tier Guardian weapons
>Tfw starting a fire underneath the Guardian Scouts and watch them slowly burn as they become stuck in place
>After enough waiting, have a healthy supply of good weapons and shields

Likewise, you can just use electric weapons (or just use electric chu jelly) to make enemies drop their shit.

Must suck being retarded. Use some ingenuity, OP. In other words, git gud. That's literally the point of MASTER Mode.
>>
>>383915609
>Nintendo releases bad DLC

WHAAAA NOT NINTENDOSAN!
>>
>>383917037
Throwing enemies off cliffs isn't cheesing. Avoiding battles and emphasizing stealth is good and increases the amount of care and thought that goes into your exploration and choice making.

Literally git gud anon. The beginning is supposed to be punishing. Upgrade the master sword. It makes a big difference.
>>
>>383917384
People are whiny babies who don't appreciate decent game design.

The only issue with Master Mode is how unfair Room 10 of the Basic Sword Trials is. You -literally- have to abuse broken AI to spam sneak strikes.
>>
>>383917202
>"git gud"

I stopped to read there, drone. I just died 2/3 times and already beat the Rito dungeon.

The DLC is not hard at all, it is just frustrating with damage sponges and no incentive to kill the mobs. You'll just end up losing all your weapons/time for a shit chest.
>>
>>383915609
I'm having the opposite experience; it's too bloody easy. Enemies still die to the same strats, you just have to use your best weapons and high-damage tactics more often.

I've got a stack of Bomb Arrows, a Crusher, and a bow from the GP Lynel every Blood Moon, and they just tear through everything. I'm also getting plenty of powerful weapons from the floating sky chests.
>>
>>383915609

>I stopped to read there
Well then you're hopeless and should probably give up. I don't care if you beat the fucking Rito dungeon. You're bad at the game if you think Master Mode is badly balanced or designed. End of story.

>not hard at all, it is just frustrating
The rallying cry of the casual in denial.
>>
>>383917619
But there's way more to it than that, and that's why you're a shitter who needs to shut the fuck up and obtain proficiency.
>>
>>383917567
I've never said it is hard.

It is frustrating with spending all your weapons on monster or simply not fighting them at all.

Or cheesing the game, of course.
>>
>>383917384
In other words, you gotta grind weapons because the durability system is shit. Got it.

Or you could obtain proficiency and not waste all your weapons on one monster. Or you could grow a brain and appreciate the deliberate design choices at play that are pushing you towards not attacking every enemy camp you see every fucking time. Y'know, to make post apocalyptic Hyrule feel a little more threatening?
>>
>>383917616
So true. I'm talking about the game design and the drones come talking about "git gud" and that it is easy.

>>
>Struggling with a Nintendo game, let alone Zelda

For a board that goes on about how casuals are ruining gaming, I'm surprised to see people bitching this much.
>>
>>383918068
It doesn't.

I can't play the game the way I want to play.

It is not hard to cheese the game. The weapons don't last.

Throw enemies on water or from mountain by throwing a piece of meat on the edge of it and blowing with a Korok leaf is BORING.

I wanted a difficult game, not a broken one.

Besides, forget about blowing them up or rolling boulders on them, because they will regen their health in seconds.

Call me when you can beat Sword Trials on Master Mode.
>>
Just walk past the enemies
>>
>>383918503
>Play how you want to play
>You can't play how you want to play

The weapon durability system is the main problem, all it needed is a unbreakable 5-10 strenght weapon to make it good.

The weapon durability system became a obvious problem with this DLC.

Bombs almost do no damage and take a while to recharge.

You need a lot of money to buy enough arrows;
>>

>>383918352
there's a difference between complaining about difficulty and complaining about artificial difficulty

>>
>>383915609
The only thing that made it bad was the HP Regen... well that's not true. The fact they added no new enemies and the only "replacements" are just floating platforms with an archer and a Lynel at the beginning.

It is a bad DLC, not because of difficulty, but because of laziness. And they obviously didn't balance Master Trials with Master Mode in mind. It's a fair and adequate challenge in Normal Mode. In Master Mode it's a combination of luck and exploiting the game's mechanics in ways that make no sense and feel glitchy just to win. (Lizalfos room being forced to exploit stealth attack glitch to constantly stealth attack otherwise they regen too much health and you run out of weapons)
>>
>>38391560

git gud, it is still way too easy
>>
>>383917826
It's frustrating because you don't want to think while you play. "Run up to an enemy and mash the attack button" isn't going to work in Master Mode, you dolt.

The game doesn't want to you to waste 4 weapons on one enemy, it wants you to learn the system so you can be efficient. There are plenty of ways to increase your damage output, and plenty of ways to kill things without weapons.
>>
>>383918937
>Unironically using the term "artificial difficulty"

You're beyond saving, anon.
>>
>>383919171
>"you don't want to think while you play"

Goddammit drones.

The DLC is NOT hard. It is boring. Most of the strategies won't work because of regen health.

It takes roughly three upgraded bombs to kill a blue bokoblin. They do fine damage.
>You need a lot of money to buy enough arrows;
Money is incredibly easy to come by. So again, git gud.

>>383918819
They'e only sponges when you're bad at the game. If you simply obtain proficiency, they won't regenerate almost any HP.

>>

>ok well like i said i haven't played it, i'm speaking generally
Sure. I'm just saying. They regen after a few moments of not being harmed.

A secret the shitters don't play enough to realize is that they aren't always capable of regenerating to full HP. If you knock one down to near death and let it regen, it'll only recover until it's at about 50% of it's total.
>>
>>383919182
(you)

>>383919098
Yes, exactly. Master mode is about exploiting the game, or run away from them.

I read that you need to get the Phantom Clothes so you can fight the enemies without farming weapons.

It could be fixed by having one single unbreakable weapon. But no...

"Anything that explodes" tactic is out of question because of the health regeneration.

Master Mode changes the game from Dynasty Warriors to Metal Gear Solid. You have to completely change the way you play the game. You kids are an embarrassment.
>>
>>383919617
>I read that you need to get the Phantom Clothes so you can fight the enemies without farming weapons.

I never got the phantom clothes and I had no problem fighting enemies.

That defeats the point. Master Mode is all about forcing you to use your entire toolkit instead of brute forcing things with traditional combat.

The upgraded Master Sword is exactly what he wants, but he's too whiny and shitty and will never be able to earn the upgrades.

With just ONE upgrade to my Master Sword form the Basic Sword Trials which brings it up to 40 damage and probably improves durability, I can deal about 2000 damage before it breaks. That's two gold or silver enemies.
>>

It's called Master Mode. You must master the game in order to beat it, even if you must resort to exploits to do so. There's nothing that says you can't do that, is there? It's literally meant to test the player's ability.

You don't have to like the mode for whatever subjective reasons you might have against it.

This isn't an RPG. You shouldn't need to be "rewarded" for fighting enemies. Kill them to get them out of your way or to take what's theirs.
>So if I force you to fight an enemy with 10,000 regenerating HP that barely does any damage and poses no threat to hit you whatsoever, and you get bored after doing about 5,000 damage without taking a hit, that makes you a casual?

>>383920742
Yes, that's what I'm trying to say, You don't need to battle the enemies at all, there is no incentive, specially with sponge enemies.

All you need to do is to stealth steal some of their weapons (the good ones) and continue the game.

There is nothing that involves mastery in doing that.

Master Mode is more like "cheese mode".

>>383920924
>This isn't an RPG. You shouldn't need to be "rewarded" for fighting enemies. Kill them to get them out of your way or to take what's theirs.

I don't understand why they only changed the AI with Guardians when they were only difficult to kill, when you didn't understand them at the start
a lot of the monsters needed AI tweaks and the only difference between silver and golden enemies, besides more HP is that they don't get staggered so easy unless you spam spin attacks and the elemental weapons affect them for a lot less time now
it's not really much, but I enjoyed the Trial of the Sword in Master Mode, although I've only done the Beginning and Middle Trials so far, as I'm trying to not get too strong gear as I'm progressing

>>383916357
you just need to get better
I had that problem at the beginning
but there's literally a rune that freezes enemies and allows you to hit them more
you can also slam them onto the ground or stagger them
also if you're finding yourself smacking enemies away and they end up regenerating, you should stop ending your combos
do 3 hits then stop and repeat
otherwise you can just use Stasis
with Yiga Clan, you just shoot them in the face and use stasis on them and hit them about 4 times and they die

I do this all the time with mobs. Freeze all of them at once then gradually pick them off one by one using the blizzard rod.
>>

Their hyper armor is Strange, there is something wrong about the combat too, the camera doesn't follow Link's back and stuff.

But anyway...

Also, it appears that they won't release their weapons as easily as it used to be. Not sure if this is one is good or bad, but I will lean to the bad side, because you can't "snatch" their weapon in the middle of the battle, that would make thinks more tolerable.

But that could be just an impression, I'm not sure if they used to drop easily or not, since I last played on the release.

There are two ice wizzrobes that always spawn directly at the shrine in Hebra, so farming ice rods is overwhelmingly easy.

Wrong.
>>
>>383922679
honestly just go with the ice weapon/thunder weapon combo and hit with ice then thunder then ice then thunder until it's dead

OP here, I always use freeze weapons, I stack at the guy from the bowing mini-game.

You are trying too hard to defend this mess of broken DLC. Jesus. that's why everyone call you "drones".

Oh, I'm well aware it's the same person, I was just being a faggot like you. However, you were too dumb to notice you were talking to two different people earlier, apparently. Kindly go fuck yourself, after you're done with your damage control.

Master Mode is pretty shitty aside from the flying platforms, which I wish there was more of. Or at least more new enemy placements.

The HP regen is just no fun allowed.

>tfw every time I see a flying platform I just shoot a single arrow and win
Even if the shit falls in the water I just pull it out with magnesis. What's the point of the platforms of they don't do anything but give you loot?
>>
>>383924158
The flying platforms are too fun, I wish they updated the main game with them.

But it is Nintendo we are talking about.

It is not called hard mode, it is called Master mode.

And it is not hard, just plain boring.

I had some fun with one in the southeast jungle area, where I shot one of the corner balloons while gliding, then when it became a straight vertical wall, I was able to grab a hold and use it as cover against the other archers. That was pretty neat.
