That wasn't the issue with the controller. There are some games where you use the analog stick to move your character and then the d-pad to switch/select items. It wasn't hard but kinda annoying to have to keep moving your hand's position back and forth from analog to d-pad.

Other controllers has it all right there so you won't have to move your hand's positions, just move your thumb from one to the other seamlessly.
