Sean Prescott is a wasted opportunity. The whole "Prescott = evil" angle fails especially when Max/Chloe find the Dark Room, then refuse to report it to the cops because "Prescott controls them," even though the game provides NO evidence whatsoever that he does. They could've grabbed the binders, handed them into the authorities, and THEN we could've seen a coverup in the works or some shit, but no, Chloe's word is law - even though the only cop we actually see in the game is some schmuck eating at the diner.

As for Jefferson, you can factor in his conversation, sure. But I think the dark room quote was much more to the point. The conversation just made him like a generic asshole teacher - a dime a dozen in these stories. I get what you're saying, though - I just think they should've fleshed him out and made him more compelling a villain.

The gameplay was all about choice and coming to terms with some of the hard choices you made. Then you'd rewind and see that both choices were fucking terrible. That's what the whole game is about. There are no "good" choices. That's what Jefferson's schtick was. He wanted to break the innocence of young girls and show them how rotten the world actually was, and photograph that exact moment.

So the whole point of the gameplay is to get you to ruminate on the choices you make. I think they did a fantastic job on it, which is why I'm a little confused that the prequel doesn't have a similar mechanic.
