So post-Awakening, I have only played Awakening and Heroes.

If I wanted to get one of the newer ones for 3DS, should I get Fates or Echoes.

Prior to this, I've played pretty much every other FE, and like most of them for varying reasons.

What I enjoy most out of FE would be map design, character support conversations, and a decent balance of difficulty on what Awakening would classify as Hard/Classic.

Growth rates are too high with enemies being too weak because of reasons like pair-up, low stats, and etc. The game has terrible difficulty with the game either being bullshit to laughably easy. There is too much wrong with Awakening.

If we want a proper comparison, FE Warriors is going above and beyond the call of duty with 25 characters before DLC. Dynasty Warriors started out with 16 characters in it's first game(3 of which were clones). Samurai Warriors was 15 characters. Hyrule Warriors 13.

This is why rosterfagging is shit, we are getting more gameplay styles than is the standard by quite a bit, but because they didn't include 1 character(and lets face it, Ike is getting in as DLC if not as a starting character) it's suddenly terrible. Also, plot relevance doesn't actually matter(and with Koei's track record, we are getting actual story parts for the DLC characters in the expansion).
