I'm considering buying it, but I heard it's pretty intensive on hardware or just not well optimized.
GTX 970 (memecard I know, don't bully), i5-2500k 3.3ghz and 8gb RAM are enough to run the game at 1080p with constant 60 fps?

Depends really. I just get super aggressive, drop at the school, apts or any major city, and fight like a crazy person. Playing the game full stealth solo is pretty fun to. Almost has the same feel as a "hunting game" if that makes sense (stalking other players, relying on your own mind to outwit opponents).

i'm having a lot of fun in between the frustration of issues caused by my awful hardware

you have to be more aggressive than is "optimal" (because the best strategy is to get loaded and hide in the circle as best as you can) or get a sniper and a good position for solo, i'd say. if you don't have a sniper and you're not playing aggressive it kind of becomes "well, i'm going to just run from crap house to crap house and occasionally half look away to check my phone or something"

Why is it a meme? I have that one as well.
We actually have a very similar PC, it runs perfectly on mine, had problems loading buildings at drop but I solves it by moving it to my SSD. I'd say try it with friends, 2 hours for refund might be too little to realuze if you like this game or not.

meh, you can camp and easily get top 15... but you sure as shit aren't going to have the gear to win the final showdown by visiting like 3 houses.

It's alright Solo but I feel like it's more competitive with a squad because you can actually help your squad up if they get knocked instead of having to reload the entire map for another round solo if you die.

Over all, the game isn't worth 29.99 USD that it's currently asking for. Essentially, there's no reason to be first other than to be first. You keep getting gear if you lose or not and it's all cosmetic, there's competition, but what the fuck for? So I can have a gas mask?
