Should literally never be an issue past level 10 unless you are straight maphack sprinting through every level.

No point, d2 has legitimately aged like dirt in all aspects except graphics, not to mention the lack of a competent online community would keep it from ever attaining what it once was, with hardcore pvp out the ass.
I'd rather play median xl than base d2 any day anyway.

Wrestling with interface/controls isn't good gameplay design, it's literal artificial difficulty. Not that Diablo is hard, but on-press cast+keep the spell in RMB after would be a nice upgrade.

you're wrong. tiny max resolution, dated graphics, usability problems, shitty mouse responsiveness on a huge chunk of players, game-breaking bugs (farcasting, color inversion on minimize, "fast lobby joining" kick from b.net), horribly dated multiplayer ui, text-only friends list. these are the things that a remaster could fix.

furthermore, this archaic UI desperately needs a few features which are commonplace these days: a party mode, to speed up mf/baal/cs runs, and to speed up ladder group play. it needs a ui element friends list and one-click joining.
