I picked the three games on the last sale and i'm playing gothic 1 for the first time. I'm really liking it, i just arrived at Xardas tower and in general I'm having a blast. This game made me realize the oversimplification of new rpgs.

But I can't fucking stand the AI of the npcs. When you have to carry someone to someplace it's just horrible. I have been forced to use console commands just to make an npc walk over a fucking tree bridge.

I don't understand how they managed to fuck it so badly in that matter.

Each merc gives a nice 400 exp. Beating them all up gets around 8000 xp or about 5 to 6 levels early game.

Gothic 2's combat takes skill, is satisfying, unforgivable as fuck, has a steep learning curve and each enemy has different fighting tactic to it

combat in TW3 is brainless button spam and is piss easy even on death march and every single enemy has the same strategy. And Quen and Igni are super easy to abuse and make every fight impossible to lose

The confined, but packed open world is filled with secrets and has a vertical element missing from most open world games. Enemies are dangerous, as is exploration, but exploration and fighting enemies is necessary. Fast forward to the modern time and some say the game is still talked about in secret and in hushed forums, where simply uttering it's name brings joy to those who know of its greatness. "Once in a lifetime experience," "perfect game," and many more praises have beset it's cherished form. But one simply stood out. "Greatest RPG ever made." The game now had it's disciples to spread its word of truth forever more.
