Also it's literally an offline MMO, I tried stumbling with it using X360 backwards compatibility (works well) and the gameplay just isn't anywhere near as fun as even the SNES titles.

If I wanted gnosticism with muh demons, I'd play Persona.

The first Devil Summoner, the Saturn one with enhanced port on PSP, does gnosticism far better than flanderized Persona 5 ever could.
The story script is also fully translated on /smtg/ so if you use a TL guide for spell/item names in addition to that, the game is perfectly playable.
As a bonus, it supposedly has ongoing translation effort of putting all that script in the game but at this rate it will come out in 20XX.
