Is the squares camo good for infiltrating FOB's?

I'm playing on PC and FOBs seem dead anyway.

They are not. Just climb the ranking and you'll start finding active players. Or you can play FOB challenges, defenders receive notification from the start in those.

I've done it a few times using using the brennan anfd rank 5 grenades I also use active decoys to lure them near the anti air guns then shoot them

No sneaking suit has worst camo index, but your steps make no noise and your health regen get a boost, also enemy players can't detect your heat with the NVG as easily as with camos or battle suit.

Infinite Heaven fucks shit up. I kill one of the targets and it doesn't even acknowledge it. One of the enemies kills a prisoner and it doesn't immediately end the mission and my checkpoint is only after he was killed so I'm fucked.

If its the standard skulls event then there's a way to do each platform with the mortar. it's easiest on the Base Development platform- just climb up the side pipe and get onto the high section with mortar (on the left of the pic-you should see the mortar) and the skulls will land on the platform opposite (right side of the pick) They will go into reflex when you fire the first mortar, but just alternate it left and right and keep firing). There's videos on youtube how to do it.

Silent steps are almost useless, enemy will see you before you are close enough to be heard, the heat concealment is nice but in the end players will detect you in any case, you are still not completely invisible to NVGs.
My advice is to use camo if you are sure you won't rise an alert, battle suit if you know a player will come defend.
