I like my PS4 Pro a lot better than my PS3, but I still only have like 4 games for it.
And after Nioh and Wipeout there's not really anything interesting this year anymore.
I might pick up Horizon when it gets cheap, but the game just doesn't seem interesting - for all the praise it looks like a very generic modern open world game.

Because 99% of modern games seem to require some kind of mandatory multiplayer mode seemingly just for the purpose of perpetuating the sale of PS+ subscriptions

Because Sony's arbitrarily locked ecosystem and online service unnecessarily encapsulates its players within an iTunes-style sunk cost fallacy which gets stronger with every purchase. This makes it harder and harder to leave and invest in a different platform while ensuring that the captive playerbase continues paying monthly tribute and doesn't stray.

Is it a good game? Yes. Is it a proper high quality high budget tier game you can credit to a console's abilities and roster? Probably not.

And its not flaunted nowadays because PS4 has actual high traffic games now.

I doubt if the Switch would get tons of new high grade games like a new Platinum, SMT and Xenoblade 2 anyone will bother referencing puyo puyo tetris ( fucking tetris) or bomberman, a remake of a 30 year old game that changed literally nothing to an already simple game.
