If he wanted a refund, he would have stopped playing. Half-Life is not a modern game and therefore doesn't begin with literally hours of tutorials and cut scenes. For an old game, the beginning is actually incredibly slow, and if you're severely retarded then it might take you half an hour to get to the action, but you know exactly what you're getting after a full hour of gameplay.

Besides, it was $1. If he played it past the refund cut-off, he got his $1 worth of entertainment.

Oh look, everyone on /v/ defending this shit game, even if they probably never played it.

Admit it, you are just defending this game to be cool, and to follow the masses. You probably started playing the series with Half-Life 2, yet you come here to defend a game that you NEVER PLAYED (and cs 1.6 doesn't count).

I must confess, I did the same thing in old Doom and Quake threads. I defended those games, but I have never played them because I was too young. The reason I did it, was because I would sound like a knowledgable gamer that "knows his shit".

But, you see, I actually watched gameplay videos of those games, and they looked good despite being old.

Now, tell me...

How can you defend a bad game, such as Half-Life 1? It is known for having repetitive corridor levels, the same enemies over and over again, like 4 guns in the entire game... including the crowbar, poor dialogues, poor animations for its time, no weapon modifications, no unlocks, no achievements, etc.

The list could go on, but you can go watch some gameplay videos on youtube, instead of reading my long and boring block of text.

Anyways, the whole point here is...

DON'T ACT LIKE YOU PLAYED THE GAME, WHEN YOU DID NOT.

P.S: Again, only playing Counter-Strike 1.6 DOES NOT make you a Half-Life connoisseur.
