Characters you want in Smash 5

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

Thread replies: 49
Thread images: 18

The only catch is you must post a moveset for them. If you really love them, you'll include tilts and smashes.

You'll also rate other characters to make this thread FUN
>>
Kamek

>B: Magic Blast
>Side B: Chain-Chomp swing
>Up B: Broomstick
>Down B: Spawn a big block to drop on people
>Final Smash: Sprinkles his magical dust all over himself, making him bigger and stringer and improving his specials.

Simon Belmont

B: Axe
SideB: Cross
DownB: Holy Water
UpB: Upward Whip attack (Can Grab Edges)

Basically most of his A attacks will use the Whip in some way
>>
Dixie Kong:

>Up B: Makes a launch barrel appear on her body, and then it launches you. Can angle the barrel when it first appears just before it launches you.
>Side B: Sends you forward doing Dixie's hair spin, like ROB's side B move. Can reflect projectiles.
>Down B: She takes out her guitar from DKC2 and jams on it, sending out sound shockwaves from both sides. Pushing effect like Mario's Fludd.
>Neutral B: Spawns a barrel in front of her. Can act like a shield, and take two or three hits before it breaks. Can also be picked up and thrown.
>How she can be unique: She is a reverse Little Mac, quick weak attacks on the ground, but slower, stronger attacks in the air. Has five jumps like Jigglypuff, and Nair can be held to spin attack in the air, but also slow your fall like her typical hair hover move. Can use Nair as much as you want, so you can trick the enemy within your five jumps by slow falling at some times, and normal falling on others.

Crash Bandicoot:

>Up B: Generic High Jump. He spins automatically if he touches someone while doing it, hurting them.
>Side B: Death Tornado Spin from Warped. Can rapid tap the button to slowly hover across the air, and can use this move AFTER using your up B.
>Down B: Body Slam. Crash Jumps up forward and slams down like Bowser's move.
>Neutral B: Fruit Bazooka from Warped. Crash takes out his fruit bazooka and fires wumpa fruit. Tap and hold the button to aim, and let go to fire, or you can just tap and let go to quick fire a shot forward where you are facing.
>>
JC Denton

>A: Prod
>side-smash: Baton
>down-smash: Dragon's Tooth
>up-smash: Stick with the prod

>B: LAM
>Side B: GEP Gun
>Up B: Hup
>Down B: Aggressive Defense System

>Final Smash: Helios merger, yes

I want Sidon. He'd be a spear user. He can jump pretty high in BotW so have a great quick jump in Smash. He could have an attack where slams down onto the other fighter with his spear like a dragoon or jumps up and throws his spear down quickly. Since he's so big, he'd have a long reach but would be a bit slow.

His smash would be kind of like Marth's. If he can connect a hit with his spear, an animation shows his opponent being flung to one side of the stage. The king shows up, grabs the character, and throws him off the stage like it's said he does to the guardian that entered Zora's Domain in BotW. The one he picks up and throws down a ravine. It would be a one hit KO to all but the heavys.

Sorry, OP. I'm just not smart enough to come up with a proper moveset for the guy but I really would love it he actually was in Smash.

They would act as a combination of Link & Ice Climbers. I guess Ice Climbers with a bit more to their arsenal.
I had a good moveset, but I can't remember it right now. Sorry anon.

Inklings.png

Inkling

A: Splattershot; all of the inkling's neutral attacks are shooting like Mega Man. Can spread ink and control direction by tilting.

B: Squid; can swim in ink and can go under people without being detected and hurt. Can't stay in Ink for too long because the ink will eventually disappear.
SideB: Splat Roller; can hold on the ground if you hold B after using
DownB: Splashdown; Like Yoshi's down b but with more ink
UpB: Super Jump; standard recovery move, but again, with more ink.

Final Smash: Kraken; Turns into a giant squid on land that spreads ink and can attack by jumping. Really powerful as it only lasts 6 seconds like it does in Splatoon.

Ink: All of Inkling's moves spread ink one way or another. It allows the Inkling to swim in it as a squid and opponents to move a little slower, although it doesn't last forever as it disappears after a little while.

Yeah it'd be nice if they leveraged Zeldas massive cast of likable side-characters as playable

mipha, revali, sidon, tetra, skull kid, ghirahim, etc. The other 2 champions are nice but we already got a big hammer dude and giant gerudo brawler in smash

Elma from Xenoblade X

I want her main gimmick to be Ghost Factory, when she uses this move she creates a decoy version of herself that will move and act exactly the same as the real one, but can't hit anything. The ultimate mind game tool.
>>
>>383851907
A Generic monster hunter
>>
>>383851907
Fire Emblem Switch lord (Assuming they'll use a sword)
Neutral B: Generic Sword Thrust
Side B: Generic Sword Dash
Up B: Generic Upward Sword Swing
Down B: Cool Looking Counter
>>
Tingle

>B: Balloon Bomb
Tingle does his stupid little dance which bestows a random effect on opponents when completed (buried, explodes, sleeps, taunt, etc.) theres a small chance the effects can happen to him instead.

>Side B: Wallet Bash
Tingle takes a sack of rupees and bashes anyone he comes into contact with. The value of the rupees are randomly decided and the damage done increases with the value (Green -> Blue -> Red -> Purple)

>Up B: Balloon Trip
Tingle inflates a balloon from his backpack that he uses to rise into the air. (pretty much Villager's Up B, I never understood why Villager had a balloon trip based move in the first place)

>Down B: Tingle Bomb
Tingle produces a bomb similar to Link/Toon Link but much heavier. While it does more damage than Link's bomb, its weight forces Tingle to carry it similar to a barrel or a crate (very slowly).
>>
>>383853046
Held A is the return of the loose chain that Sheik used to have
>>
>>383854402
The overall move set will be similar to this but they won't have the attacks leave ink outside of the hit effects (too much of an eyesore on the playing area).

Though the dodge will definitely be the inkling going into squid form, going into the ground, and then coming back up.

I could see the crouch be squid-form as well
>>
>>383854402
Cool ideas, just made me think maybe inklings could have an ink meter and they have to use ink to use their B moves, and they have to go into squid form to refill it?

Looking forward to what they decide to do with inklings anyway

>>
Urbosa
>Uses her scimitar and shield for neutral attacks
>Special moves involve urbosa's fury/her lightning powers

Inkling
>Neutral attacks are all melee weapons: swiping inkbrush or a roller for stronger attacks
>Special moves are all ranged weapons: standard b shoots a splatter shot; holding side b lets you charge a charger shot, for a small window of time while it's charged you hang still in the air and you are pushed back slightly when you fire
>Shielding and rolling/dodging is done in squid form, if you're on the ground you hide in a small puddle of ink beneath you, it fades away when you go back to kid form
>Alt costumes - 4 male, 4 female, 8 different colours and outfits, all have different hairstyles (spla2n has 4 hairstyles for each gender)

Captain Toad
>Fast, small bouncy character, has small jumps like little mac
>Neutral attacks involve swinging around his heavy backpack
>His movement is very slippery and hard to control as he is light and swung around by the momentum of his backpack (he has a lot of aerial control because of this, even though he can't jump very high)
>Special moves involve him chucking gems and gold out of his backpack
>Down B is like peach's, he picks up a turnip, but instead he holds it on his head and it has a different trajectory
>Neutral B toggles his head torch - perfectly timing turning it on when close to another character stuns them for a tiny amount
>Alt costumes are the other members of the toad brigade and toadette

>B: Parry - A barrage of slashes that does superb damage and deflect projectiles. It does more damage if the Beam Katana is fully charged
>Side B: Travis Tiger - Travis transforms into a tiger and runs forward and pounces however is in his way
>Up B: Beam Katana Cyclone - Travis spins around in a cyclone with his beam katana, this attakc gives Travis great height, horizontal control and launching capability when fully charged
Down B: Recharge - Travis shakes his beam katana in a oddly suggestive way, recharging his beam katana and increasing it's power.
>Final Smash: Glastenbury Let's Punk! - Travis performs a home run swing with his beam katana that launches the foe into the air, a cutscene appears with Travis in the Glastenbury flying towards the airborn opponent and locking on. buttons will appear on the screen and if they are pressed in the correct order Travis fires a barrage a barrage of missiles at them and finishes them off with blast from his cannon which also requires a correct punch-in of another sequence of numbers

The idea is that Travis' beam katana loses power as it's used and you have to recharge if every so often and the meter from the first game can be seen by his character icon, similarly to Little Mac and his KO meter. Also his signature suplex is his down throw.
>>
Skull kid from Majora's Mask.

>>
BANDANA DEE FAGGOTS

Up-B: spear copter
Side-B: Mine cart
Neutral-B: charge spear shot (3 at once max)
Down-B: Parasol dive (aerial), Parasol shield/reflector (ground)

some other moves
Uair: parasol
Dair: Spear dive
Jab: multistab jab
Fair/Bair: spear shot (like villager's slingshot)
>>
>>383859814
>Down B recharge
This is a good idea I never thought of but it's obvious. The player should have to tap Down B multiple times to shake/charge faster. Similar to how certain UP Bs improve when spammed quickly

That said, I've always wanted Travis in the game and the announcement of what's essentially NMH3 for Switch makes me hopeful he'll get in. also finally a Grasshopper rep
>>
>>383860541
I was thinking of just holding down b but yeah pressing it multiple times makes a lot more sense.
>>
I just want anyone from ARMS
>>
>>383859205
Great moveset.
>>
>>383860843

B: ARM charge. Temporarily charge up your ARMS to deliver more powerful regular strikes.
Side B: Stun Bomb. Punch a stun bomb forward that detonates after a few seconds, damaging and stunning anyone in range.
Up B: Deflector Kick. Min Min's signature move gives the ARMS fighter a little extra aerial lift, and reflects projectiles back at opponents. Can be used twice in a row.
Down B: ARM swap. Swap between Fire, Ice, and Lightning ARMS to change up the charge effects on your attacks.

FS: Hedlok Fury. The user dons a Hedlok mask and unleashes a rush at the same time.

Yea. Ancient Stone Tablets.

Best girl

>B. Viridi Palm (sort of)
While Viridi wouldn't actually use her own palm, she could probably shoot a projectile identical to the palm's shots from her staff. Low charged shots would flinch, mid charged ones would trap foes in a pink tornado for a bit, and max charged would be like Samus' maximum Charge Shot, except with better shield breaking capabilities.

>Side B: Viridi Claws
Would work like the Pits' arms, except instead of launching the target, it could be a combo starter and a damage dealer.

>Up B: Nutski
Viridi could summon a Nutski and it would work similar to Beat, except it would go a tad slower. However, pressing A would have the Nutski shoot a projectile at the opponent.

>Down B: Demon Vines
Viridi could briefly summon protective vines that deal damage upon sprouting. If a foe uses a melee attack, then the vine would retaliate for around 14-20% with decent knockback.

>Final Smash: Reset Bomb
Viridi would trap some foes, and then summon a reset bomb to deal massive damage and knockback unto her opponents. The area her foes were trapped in would have purple vines and branches left over.

Lloyd Irving
>Unique combo system that works almost exactly the same as in Symphonia; regular ground hits combo into each other up to three times, except neutral jab which ends the combo; certain moves can be used directly following other moves, with a specific level designation for each one- Neutral and tilts can be chained into Lv.1, Lv.1 can be chained into Lv.2, etc., but not the other way around
>A - Sword twirl that hits twice
>Mash A - Sword Rain(Lv.1)
>Ftilt - Slash
>Dtilt - Stab
>Utilt - Slash that lifts Lloyd into the air, allowing immediate air special use

>Final Smash - Falcon's Crest
>Utaunt - "Don't let up!"
>Staunt - "Let's do the usual."
>Dtaunt - "Holy cow!"

If my autism were slightly stronger I'd do Zelos as well.

Hector

>B : Hand Axe, quickly throws a hand axe in front of him. Different from Link's boomerang as he gets it back before the end of the animation
>Side-B : Hector leaps in the air before crashing down
>Up-B : Hectorcopter
>Down-B : Hector slams the ground with Armads, causing lightnings to come out of it and hitting foes around. May stun if close enough. Turns into a slow meteor smash with electric hitboxes while airborne.

For the A moves, some are inspired by other axe users' animations. The rest are generic moves, nothing too noteworthy except for one

>F-Smash : General Axe Attack, throws his axe in front of him attached with a chain before pulling the chain to get it back. Great reach but a lot of endlag.
>>
Wild Link
>B: Traveller's Bow.
>Side B: Stasis. Swings Sheikah Slate out in a little uppercut, chains swing out from behind Link... Stuns a fella if it hits, hits don't add % but the knockback of each hit is added on and then applied all at once.
>Down B: Remote Bomb. Produce a bomb as an item, throw it and use it, press Down B again to detonate.
>Up B: Cryonis. A bit like Squirtle's surf in Brawl, ride a pillar of ice up and a little forward, then it hangs there in the air a bit before shattering as a temporary wall. As Link holds the Sheikah Slate above his head, contacting that will cause a bit of damage and knockback.
>A: Traveller's Spear. Fast, long reach. Has up to five hits. Hold it to charge for up to three levels, can't hold charge, locks him in place while letting out up to 12 weak hits.
>Forward Tilt: Strong spear jab.
>Down Tilt: Quick spear sweep.
>Up Tilt: Traveller's claymore. Can combo up to two hits.
>NAir: Double kick.
>DAir: Shield surf.
>Smash DAir: Master Sword down thrust. Just like ordinary Link's, can bounce a couple times.
>FAir: Leapfrog. Punch with both hands, vault enemy behind you.
>Smash FAir: Master Sword swing, baseball bat style
>BAir: Double kick behind.
>Smash BAir: Master Sword backhand cut.
>UAir: Backflip kick.
>Smash UAir: Master Sword up swing.
>FSmash: Master Sword combo.
>USmash: Master Sword combo.
>DSmash: Master Sword spin.
>Final Smash: Link dashes forward and upward slashes with the master sword. If caught, the four Divine Beasts shoot their lasers in and murder whoever was knocked into the air.
>Grab: Tether, uses Magnesis.
>Down Throw: Lift enemy up with Magnesis, slam down into the ground.
>Forward Throw: Pull enemy close, then kick away.
>Back Throw: Just swipe back and past.

>Down Taunt: Cook a meal.
>UTaunt: Master Sword Pose.
>STaunt: Horse Whistle, can taunt while moving.

>Costume 1: Champion's tunic, no hat.
>Costume 2: Hylian Tunic and Hylian Hood, Hylian pants.
>>
>Makoto Naegi
>Combo-based character
>His dash attack, crouch attack, jab, tilts, throws, and aerials start combos, which have random nonsense text surrounding them
>After a certain combo length, sometimes yellow text will appear
>Hitting this with a Smash attack or a certain special will be more powerful
>Neutral-B: Fires a truth bullet projectile (Nonstop Debate)
>Side-B: Sliding on a board forward (Mind Dive)
>Up-B: Goes from one "comic panel" to another quickly (Climax Interface)
>Down-B: Counter with a sword (Rebuttal Showdown)
>Final Smash: Bullet Time Battle (I have no clue how to work this)

Possibly add a V3 minigame in there. Probably to replace Climax Interface and have that be his Final Smash.

B: Flare Wand. Like Luigi’s Fireball. Custom move Chaos Sphere is like Mario’s.
Side B: Dust Knuckles.
Up B: Rising Dagger. Upward stab that can be used to pick up KOs. Can be slightly angled diagonally left and right.
Down B: Mobile Gear. Works similar to Bowser Jr.'s Mechakoopa, but it can carry foes offstage if they land on it from above after it’s set. Can move immediately or stay stationary like choosing Samus’ missiles.
Final Smash: Custom Knight, a transformation from drinking Troupple Ichor that replaces his Dust Knuckles with the Ghost Gloves, causing projectile punches, Flare Wand with Flareo Rod, causing the fireballs to explode, Mobile Gear becomes Bait Bomb, moving faster, lasting longer, and exploding on contact, and Rising Dagger can be aimed sideways like Propeller Dagger.

A: In-game shovel swing. Like Pikachu's jab.
S-Tilt: Stabs forward with his Shovel Blade similar to Toad Armor.
D-Tilt: A sideways low swipe to trip foes.
U-Tilt: Polar Knights guard against the shovel drop, holding his shovel blade horizontally with two hands and pushing upward. Combo starter.
Dash Attack: Shoulder Check like Toad Armor.

S-Smash: Charge Blade/Dynamo Mail swing. Small hitbox behind Shovel Knight.
D-Smash: A downward strike that kicks up dirt from the game’s dirt piles. Similar to Charizard’s.
U-Smash: A scoop into an upward swing of the Shovel Blade similar to Cloud’s.

N-Air: Horizontal slash that covers the sides like Toon Link’s, but is one big swing not two small ones.
F-Air: Triple swing of the Shovel Blade like Kratos Armor, and similar to Kirby’s.
U-Air: U-Tilt in air, like Cloud’s.
D-Air: Shovel Bounce. Can just point it down by tapping A, or do Greninja’s D-Air by holding A down, like Ryu’s button press.

F-Throw: Headbutt with horns on Helmet.
B-Throw: Throws them back then smacks them with the Shovel like a baseball bat.
U-Throw: Catapults foe off of Shovel.
D-Throw: Clocks them over the head with the Shovel.

BOTW Link

B: Pulls random bow from the game, fires random arrow. Different bows are cosmetic, but arrows have the appropriate properties. Small chance to pull a Lynel bow and fire three arrows.
->B: Throws random boomerang or melee weapon from the game. Boomerangs are weaker but have a return path, melee weapons are slightly stronger. Different boomerangs are cosmetic, different melee weapons are cosmetic.
^B: Pulls paraglider, boosts into air. Using bow while airborne slows Link's aerial movement like in the game.
vB: Uses cryonis to create a small damaging ice block that rises from the ground in front of him then dissipates.

A: Pulls random one-hander (sword, club, etc.) and swings. Press repeatedly to combo, and each press pulls out a new weapon. Different weapons are cosmetic.

Ftilt: Pulls random spear from the game and stabs forwards. Differences cosmetic.
Utilt: Pulls random two-hander and swipes above head. Differences cosmetic.
Dtilt: Pulls random axe or hammer and does a quick low spin attack (just one hit on either side). Differences cosmetic.

Fsmash: Master Sword swipe, can follow up with another (same as normal Link).
Usmash: Master Sword upward stab.
Dsmash: Spins to hit low front then back with Master Sword.

Grab: Short range, doesn't extend hands to hold the enemy, instead holds them with Magnesis. Throws have the magnesis magnet animation hurling the enemy away.

Guard: Pulls random shield form the game. Differences cosmetic.

Final smash: Uses stasis on an enemy in front of him, freezing them however they are (even in midair) for a few seconds. You can do as many hits as you want in this time, which all increment damage % but don't do any knockback. Once stasis wears off, the enemy gets the cumulative knockback effect all at once. Shows knockback direction arrow like in the game.

Up taunt: Upward pointing camera selfie pose from the game.
Down taunt: Horse whistle.

Victory screen: cooks a meal.
