As a Mercy main, I just like the feeling of personally looking after another, and dashing to peopke is fun. I'm not hot shit and think her Ult is unfun to play against, especislly since invulnerability was added.

At low rank play, she's useful simply because she's needed to babysit ragtag teams and if you're at low rank, the players aren't good enough to be a proper Ana or Zen. Lucio is still pretty much mandatory.
At high rank, she's only useful for the revive; high level Ana and Zenyatta are better options. And Lucio is still mandatory.

I actually ended up a mercy main despite not liking her play style. Usually found my compeditive teams to have no healer, so I would just suck it up and pick her to round out our comp. A few seasons later and I have the most hours on her in comp.

I still play Torb and Reaper primarily in QP though.
