I've only played Dark Souls 1, 2, 2 SOTFS, 3 and Bloodborne.
I think all of them are fantastic, albeit flawed, games. Easily one of the best videogames series ever made.

I know Bloodborne is more linear but as I was playing it it almost felt the way das1 did with where the fuck do I go, I did the blood starved beast and hemwick lane and got all fucked up when I found out they were optional. The main path without doing anything optional is a pretty straight line though

Can someone explain to me why they like DaS 2 over 1 and 3, other than the PvP?
It had garbage level design, garbage bosses, 'lava world' 'poison world' straight out of super mario, to me it's the worst in the series. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, it's just not nearly as good as the others. Every time I try to replay I just remember I have to go through all the garbage to get to the few good bits and give up.

In this thread we list things Dark Souls 2 did that were far better than Dark Souls 3. I'll start:

i enjoy DSc bosses to the ds1 bosses honestly, Mythaa, dark lurker, demon of song, smelter, velsdat(?) are some of my favourites in the whole series.

Ds1 felt way to same with hyper aggressive bosses all the time, Seath, Gwyn, O&S and Gwyn are the only ones i fondly remember. Quelagg was okay i guess.

I think Ds3 had the best variation.

Dark Souls 2 just isn't very memorable when it comes to bosses.
and the game isn't very hard either.

i still like it a lot for the RPG elements, the way stats work and the amount of different gear you get / use

it's fun to play and a good game, just doesnt have a lasting impact like other games
granted i haven't played Dark Souls 3

wich is one of the reasons i like bloodborne so much, it feels like the world makes more sense (wich ends up leading to less variety but i think thats a good trade

So you just enjoy the easier experience? The only boss with a modicum of difficulty that you listed is smelter, and even he is piss-easy after your first run.

Just got BB but havent decide when to start it. Any advice on builds?

STR builds gets the greatsword, the hammer and the stake driver wich is a fist with a giant stake on it
DEX builds gets a sick canewhip... and some 2 spears... one with a gun and one without a gun, and a rapier gun and a dagger.

thats basically all.
going magic the first time through kinda sucks, and so does going gunbuild.
DLC adds a bunch more weapons but you won't get them anytime soon, so look up the weapons... pick the coolest looking non DLC weapon, and build towards that.
that's my advice.
it sounds shitty, but the pace at wich you get new weapons in bloodborne means you gonna be stuck with the first bunch for most of the game.
