Even though the gameplay is really generic, the plot confusing and the graphics are 1080p PS2 emulation-tier i am going to buy this game in october because:

Interface sometimes freezes needing a manual reboot and even when it doesn't freeze it's still insanely laggy, i tried clearing cache, restoring, buying a new, bigger hard drive for it, cleaning the ps4 itself but it always happens.

The console gets really, really hot if you play more than two hours with it.

I would say yes, but it depends on what you're expecting. The wife stuff does not have VN-tier depths to it. I think there's like 10-15 choices to make maximum with each choice in wife, with Undead having the most. The choices do lead to radically different outcomes involving here - again, most obvious being the final form of the Undead wife, or the elf girl preserving her traditions vs. being a carefree slut but your slut vs. being moderate, or for the lizard girl warming her up to the idea of romance or keeping her a simple political ally.

The worst part of the game is the RTS segments, the best is the on-ship politics. Fortunately, you can skip all the RTs stuff entirely by playing the map-segments like R.I.S.K.. Doing so makes it an extremely enjoyable game.

Overall, I'd say the game is worth $20. If you can pick it up for $5-$10 in a sale, do so.

Oh shit, I'm actually an expert on this.
It's fun. Depending on how you play it, it's either annoyingly easy or decently challenging. If you multitask and attempt to get full ecstasy combos, pick up all student handbooks, get every girl's measurements, and figure out every girl's weakpoints, you'll probably have a bad time in a few spots, but the M+K controls in the Steam port make it far more trivial. There's technically a route for every single girl in the game- including basic fodder- but they're naturally less significant than the four or five "main" girls.

If you're interested in just having fun, going through routes, and finding out more about each girl, it's fantastic. If you need fap material, unfortunately the costume selection is terrible. There are four unlockable costumes in the whole game and all of them are just school outfit variants; there are however about 20 DLC costumes, all $5. There's a hidden feature to change panty designs, at least. The main girls are nowhere near as good as the first game, also. Shinobu is as vanilla as vanilla can possibly get, and while Maya is very cute, her entire route is just "WHAT ABOUT SHINOBU?" The other girls are Ekoro and Kurona, and Kurona's gimmick gets old extremely fast. Aoi comes back to run the Academy Store, and she technically has a route, but there's no romancing involved. At least this game, again, lets you romance any girl in the entire game under the right circumstances, including the cat hairpins girl.

You can also get titles for focusing on specific body parts during the final Doki-Doki fields, but they don't seem to do anything. I really wish there were some benefit to being a "Pure Belly Button God."

The premise of generisuke the average Japanese highschool student™ having five 10/10 girls treat him like he's the most special guy in the world because he's "nice" (normally more passive than outstandingly nice, often passive aggressive and snappy) flushes any potential that the series might have down the drain. Actually, if the show does certain well, that just makes the presence of the Gary Stu protagonist all the more frustrating.

If I see a cast comprised of one average-looking/dead-eyed guy surrounded by three or more cute girls, I will at least monitor the threads for signs that the MC isn't that bad. Pic related. Watched and enjoyed. Incidentally, people generally don't call good shows with harem elements a harem show.

You're looking at a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself.

A "Gary Stu" is a major writing flaw concerning how the world interacts with the character in question and visa versa. Basically, the world feels like it was built for the Stu, which can manifest itself as the Stu being described as all-powerful, good at everything, etc. in comparison to the people around him. Do you honestly buy that there are no guys anywhere in the vicinity who would be a more attractive partner to just about any woman that you could find than Generisuke, no personality incarnate? Of course not, but the women NEED to cream themselves at the mere thought of him so that he doesn't get eternally friendzoned by every major girl in the show while he showcases the distinctly unmanly quality of lacking any sort of decisive initiative. The universe bends around his special existence.

It's pretty common for harem protagonists to take up the symptoms that you're thinking of as the story progresses, too. Special bloodline, rare abilities, etc.
