I remember it. I still really enjoyed my time with it even if I don't play it anymore. I really love the setting and characters of the game and the presentation was typical Suda/Grasshopper charm. I'm still trying to buy the fucking baseball cap they made for this game but they only ever give them out at events or for contests. I hate that, let me give you money, you fucks. Also I really wish I could buy the soundtrack.

Let It Die had potential to be a great 3d dungeon crawler and I'm disappointed at it.

It should've been made into a full single player game with PVP and Co-Op in the tower. Turn the floors into actual fucking mazes, improve combat and ability to dodge, use different armors and weapons that won't break down forever, DLC Expansion stories exploring outside the Tower.

Great idea, meh execution.

The difficulty gets easier as the game goes on honestly because you just grind for the bullshit overpowered mushrooms that make you invincible or slow down time and boost your attack like crazy. The regular enemies don't ever get harder it's just the bosses, but with grinding they don't even get to hit you.

Nobody ever said it was the Souls Killer, it was a Souls Clone.
Nioh is great but you're right, it left no lasting impression and everyone stopped talking about it the day it was released.
Still a great game though.

This game was really neat, the grind was just retarded, I got really into it for a while, but by the time you get to the end the shallow gameplay starts to show more and more and the game gets taken over by the ludicrous grind for gear. The game actually night have been cooler if it was just a purchased game with a reduced grind instead of a free to play with an insane grind...even though paying for the death metals offers no one a serious advantage over players who don't. Waste of a fun idea to be honest.

Nothing about Nioh is great.
It's very mediocre games with bad loot / inventory / item system, unremarkable enemies and bosses and terrible level design. Nothing good about music and "plot" as well. Combat is pretty tedious as well.

The mushroom thing is true as fuck, but even with the mushrooms you still end up hitting other bullshit barriers like not having enough equipment to progress beyond a certain point in one run, and really you can only progress so far with weapons below the tier that is supposed to match the area you are in because of the damage lower tier weapons do to higher tier enemies and how the durability system is set up. At the end of the day there are just too many grinds to keep up with at once in the game to ever make anything more then menial progress late game, especially since most of the grind comes down to ridiciculous RNG.

I feel like the only reason the game feels shallow is because the enemies become damage sponges and you're forced to use bullshit mushrooms to essentially one shot fights which is really dumb and reductive to what the game is mechanically. All the pieces are there for a really fun precision action game, it's just that most of it gets ignored because most of the mechanics never get used.

I agree that the loot system was a bit absurd, it worked for what they wanted but got tedious as fuck sifting through hundreds of pieces of gear all the time. The plot was okay, nothing great or amazing, but decent enough, at least conceptually, same with the music, I've heard better but the game has some decent tracks. I still think the gameplay is fun though, there just wasn't shit all to do after you beat it, here's hoping for a better sequel.
