no problem, i wasn't the original guy. was just commenting that mouselook is really the major addition to EE since it affects gameplay. not gonna bitch about graphics unless you go into the remake.

Enhanced Edition runs natively on modern Windows instead of relying on Dosbox emulation so you'll be able to get much higher framerates and run it at higher resolutions. If you want the classic controls, you can modify controls.cfg and set it to use the original controls profile; there's really no reason to play the original executable.

Prey (2017) is honestly a better System Shock game that System Shock.

Literally the only thing SS has is more disturbing enemy designs and a better villain, and that's not enough when every aspect of the gameplay is worse.

I might be inclined to agree IF Nightdive decides to take the easy way out and straight up re-imagine the game into something not recognizable and watered down. The Unity demo was promising but it looks like they ditched that Total Recall/80's design for something even more generic.

They reached both stretch goals for new levels and areas on the station so hopefully I'm wrong. But they straight up said they're taking it from being a remaster of the first game to a re-imagining; Killed my interest in it at the time.

Above all I just hope they won't turn the remake into a cinematic piece of shit. It needs to be something you can play again and again and still be surprised; The former would just be a one-and-done waste.

Enhanced Edition is great and mouselook is absolutely appropriate for this game.
