I had a comp game where I was junkrat and kept killing the enemy pharah cause she was horrid, and we had a roadhog on the team who kept trying to fight pharah and she'd just smack him.

He started getting pissed off at me claiming I was feeding pharah when he literally kept death charging her and demanded I switch right now.

I refused, he got super pissed.

I won us the last round with a quad kill and a mine bounce to get the last guy away from our cart, then got potg while he was screaming still how I just spent all game dying to pharah (she never killed me) and first thing they see in potg is me hitting pharah midair and killing her.

He left immediately.

Was glorious.

If pharah was any good I would have switched, but she wasn't. She was just better than that roadhog player by far.

Winston is great.

Roadhog is trash now. The fact that they say sombra and Roadhog are perfect make me think the devs are only concerned about consoles right now.

Zen melts winstons with a good team in front of him. Don't be afraid to be highly offensive with zen, keep a long distance, and cheeky positioning where the enemy team won't notice right away. When you have to get super aggressive get right in their face, fire dps while jumping aggressively. Changing strats can be a great strat in itself. He's especially a good support when your team is lacking some damage. Otherwise I'd to Lucio. I don't play Mercy.

There are a lot of issues with this game right now, but the one that annoys me the most is the lack of tank mains. Everyone either plays DPS or one-tricks Mercy, so even if you manage to get people to flex onto other necessary roles, they're garbage at them because they don't know how to play those heroes.

I have an alt account I like to play on to practice DPS in a competitive environment (I play Winston/Dva almost exclusively on my main account), and I've spent most of this season having to play tank on it too since you practically NEED a Winston in every game the same way you used to always need a Rein.

Both Winston and D.Va are very rewarding and enjoyable to play when played properly. I've seen more than my fair share of people play both of them incorrectly and it throws just as many games as bad DPS players.

The big problem with Roadhog is how the game works. In a game like HOTS, a character like Stiches works because it's all or nothing. As long as you don't die, you can take 99% damage and heal and you're good to go. Tanks with huge health pools, self healing and no shielding can work. In Overwatch, taking any points of health damage means you're feeding the enemy team ultimates, which means Roadhog cannot be as effective. Every time you take enough damage to use your self heal and fall back to heal, you've given that damage dealing character no less than 15% of their ultimate gauge, which will bite your entire team in the ass later.

Roadhog needs to continue one shotting enemies but only with a successful headshot. Basically right now the devs tried to make him more team oriented so that he'd need the help of his teammates when he hooks an enemy to take them down, but Roadhog works better as a lone wolf flanker so the nerf really fucked his role up pretty bad. The licensing/account handling works a little differently there. Because so many people play by purchasing time at an internet cafe, they don't actually require you to purchase individual accounts there. The cafe pays a licensing fee to Blizzard, and customers who are playing from one can make additional accounts there at no extra cost. So if they get banned for cheating they just make another account.

I only played at launch but that's how I always played him. I couldn't fucking stand Widow so whenever I saw one I'd switch to him and ride her ass the whole game. Every now and then you'd get one that could headshot you out of midair so you'd have to turn mid-jump and show them your ass. Winston is probably the most fun I had during my 2-ish months with the game because he's just so fucking silly.

Mobile characters started to become more popular since the Tank meta died. Now it's all about just overwhelming the other teams support with quick rushes. Winston and D.va are the most mobile tanks and can mitigate a ton of damage if they use their defensive skills correctly. This is why Ana also fell off and Zen usage increased because Ana prefers meaty fortresses to spam heals at instead of twitchy spazzes.

Youre both right. Healers are fun for compfags like me because they are without a doubt the most impactful characters (aside from mercy). If winning is the primary goal for the player, healing is fun for the player in OW because of the mix of secondary damage and playmaking capability. Again, aside from mercy.
