Let's settle this now and forever.

Which one had the better bosses?

Which one had the better level design?

Which one had the better minigames?

Which one had the better superpower gimmick?

Which one had the better final boss death?
>>
Triple deluxe is one of the shittiest kirby games, thats unfair
>>
>>383821005
Both a good time, Robobot was a lot more memorable and fun.
>>
Robobot is straight up a more challenging and memorable version of Triple Deluxe
>>
TD had pyribbit so it loses by default.

Triple Deluxe was pretty fun to play, if only if it weren't for the Hypernova section. It was fun to see what it does for the first time, but it got way too repetitive. Which is a shame since the levels that feature them also have a great level design prior to that.
>>
Robobot is better.

Triple Deluxe had worst level design and accelerometer sections were too forced.

Never finished it.
>>
Robobot does everything better.
>>
Robobot wins in every way even with minigames, but hey without triple deluxe we would have never had PR so I can't hate it
>>
I haven't played triple deluxe but man robobot was fantastic.

>>
>>383822972
>accelerometer sections were too forced.
I thought they weren't that bad. It was just a simple turn left or right with the 3DS gyroscope, unless I'm forgetting something else.
>>
I loved TD, but PR blows it out of the water.
>>

Robobot
>>

It's hard to argue against Star Dream's QTE, but in terms of the boss fight I preferred Sectonia.
>>
Seems like we all agree Robobot is the best 3DS Kirby game
When are we gonna get more Kirby for Switch news though, that's what I wanna know.
>>
>when TD actually had good bosses easily it but its bad ones were super bad
>Robobot by a long, very consistent shot
>none of them were very good
>Hypernova is cooler thematically and shit but Robobot was better implemented as an actual game mechanic, I don't like either though
>Sectonia was a much better fight than mediocre Star Fox
>>
The Robobot Armour music is better than Hypernova's, despite not playing as much throughout the game. And this playing through the final level is just fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQCX4lrXzMg&index=59&list=PLiGvWycRgz6gRBOA_epJJg-hGgwN0oXDz

If we do get more info this year, I think it'll be in the last quarter.

>>383825206
I was disappointed fighting Sectonia's soul final phase since it was just a mishmash of other soul attacks. Although the battle before that was tense as all hell, especially when you're trying to keep an ability throughout the entire fight. Star Dream Soul OS final phase was better done in my opinion, but like this anon said >>383825631, the battle before that gets a bit tiring if you know what you're doing.

I've yet to play either, but I have played the demo for PR and it was pretty fun. Also heard that PR is far more challenging than TD.

If I can find it somewhere cheap, then I'll pick it up, till then I'm gonna pick up TD since I can grab it for under $20.

I really hope the final battle for the next game does something way more insane.
>>
>>383826780
I thought her flying at the screen was a bit confusing, because it didn't seem like a legitimate threat. Her story mode fight was a lot more enjoyable, considering everything that led up to it and the fight itself. My problem with Star Dream is having to mash B to do maximum damage and clear the debris away, but the Soul phase makes up with the challenge.
>>
>>383827236
TD is pretty good too, but the Hypernova will get monotonous if you have to replay those sort of stages again. Though it does feature the Beetle and Bell power which is only in that game.
>>
>>383827652
I can but believe in Hal to make a suitably exciting final boss. This time for sure, I will play the game and not find out in advance what the boss is. As fun as it is to have it revealed on here, playing the game is the best way to do it.
>>

>>
>>383828392
I knew nothing about Sectonia, but I had seen the Drill Kirby screenshot and knew that it went full Gurren Lagann. I was not dissapointed, holy fuck.
I might have to go replay the fight now
>>
>>383828079
Better pray and hope you get an early copy of the game and get to the finale before we start spoiling it. It is very hard trying to be spoiler free.
>>
>>383821005
Robobot is the only answer

I don't know a single person who prefer Triple Deluxe over Robobot desu
I remember playing like 5 mins of Triple Deluxe and got bored as fuck. I literally sold my copy after that
>>
>>383830035
It's literally the same as Robobot liar
>>
>>383829862
I hardly expect the threads to be spoiler free. I might import the JP version depending on release date differences, and following Hal's recent trends, hopefully it'll be multi-language. The only sure-fire way to avoid spoilers to not use the internet until I finish story mode and the True Arena. This time for sure.
>>383830035
You're missing out on a fantastic final boss.
>>
>>383821005
only good thing about TD is Dedede mode.
Robobot is better in every way. Mechs are a way better gimmick than hyper kirby.
>>
>>383830309
>Mechs are a way better gimmick than hyper kirby.
That's hardly fair, mechs are better than everything
>>
>>383821005
Robobot is literally Triple Deluxe but with more features. It's not even a question.
>>
>>383830309
Dedede Tour is way too much fun. Especially with those hidden warp areas and the infinite hammer throws.
>>
>>383830190

Triple Deluxe is slow as fuck compared to Robobot, which have more things happening in a level plus Robobot gimmick is actually fun

Robobot's wins pretty easily, but I still prefer Triple Deluxe due to Dededetour. The Hammer was fucking built for going fast.

>>
>>383831528

>>
>>383822640
This. Robobot seems like a natural extension of Kirby's abilities and allowed for a wide variety of level design surrounding it. Hypernova is literally a more repetitive "Press X to solve puzzle" situation that was already repetitive in RtDL.
>>
>>383821005
Robobot wins no fucking contest.
>>
Is the Dreamstalk still there?
Didn't see it in Robobot...
>>

>>
Neither.
Both games contribute the slow stagnation of Kirby with aping Return to Dreamland.
>>
>>383832191
The worst part about Hypernova was that it was an unskippable section. Even the Super Abilities had sections that you were able to skip, plus fighting all those mini bosses without using it was stupidly hard and fun. Even then, there was the black and white void area that was also fun to play, in which the end of Hypernova didn't have that much challenge except for the very few mini-bosses that feature in it.

Easiest one to find is in level 1-2 of Kirby's Adventure. Keep on going until you see a warpstar. Don't get on it and go the opposite way until you don't see it anymore. Then go back and you'll see that the warpstar is no longer there. Keep on going and you'll find HAL written in Star Blocks. This was fixed in the 3DS port of Adventure since another developers fixed all known glitches and slowdowns.
>>
>>383836740
If that's the easiest then no wonder I've never found any.
>>
>>383837095
You could find it the same way in Returns to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, and Planet Robobot in certain levels. Although those games each has 2 HAL rooms to find.

Triple Deluxe had a weaker gimmick but stronger bosses (outside of Pyribbit), partially because more of them were new, or at least surprising. Both games are built off of Return to Dream Land's formula, but Triple Deluxe changed things more than Robobot did, and was better at surprising the player. Clanky Woods doesn't compare to Flowery Woods for this reason. Robobot has too many bosses that return from older games (some of them barely older), and even bosses recycled within its own story mode. Star Dream was a cool set-piece but wasn't as good as Sectonia as a final boss. Planet Robobot should have given you a second phase against Haltmann with you in the Robobot armor, and the fight against Star Dream's core should have been part of the main story. Then maybe it would compare to Triple Deluxe's five phase finale, which was bolstered by feeling like I was actually playing a new game.

Planet Robobot spends too much time going, hey, remember that? Remember this? Remember when you fought this guy? Check this shit out, this guy's like Nova, you know him. I can't deny enjoying all of those things, but taking a step back from it, I'm gonna give more points to something new. If Hal was a rougher developer, maybe Triple Deluxe would have been messier, and Robobot would come out and refine a bunch of elements and feel more valuable for it, but that isn't the case, they did a great job with TD so there wasn't much left to do in a sequel following the same formula. I was still glad to get more of it, though.
>>
>>383843960
That's a fair argument against Planet Robobot. Plus Triple Deluxe introduced spot dodging and increase uses of background/foreground interaction. Although Planet Robobot brought back the pseudo-3D ring areas which has battles fought like Whispy in Kirby 64. In my opinion I felt Clanky Woods beat Flowery Woods since it was a more mobile version of him compare to older version of it. Plus there were three different phases, each having attacks different from any other bosses. The disappointing part about it is the fact that none of the bosses did that immense change in battlefield like the first boss did.

Who would like another True Arena like Planet Robobot?

Locking the EX verison of the Final boss behind The True Arena, so you're unable to really get a handle of the boss patterns before being thrown in, knowing if you lose you're gonna have to do it all over again.
>>
>>383821005
Frankly both games have their pros and cons. There were some tracks that I loved and some that I didn't liked. Both gimmick powers doesn't really feel like they were utilized fully, Mega SUCC was only good for clearing out road blocks while the Robobot was only used here and there despite being the main selling point of the game.

BUT

Regardless of how both games went, Robobot have the hypest final boss battle ever.

I actually kind of like it since it gives you something unknown to look forward to. You know all of the bosses either fairly well or completely by that point, so not having it would both lower the already small amount of challenge Kirby has, and make it less entertaining or replayable because you can fight everything there whenever you want in the other modes. Basically, the extra bosses are a better incentive to keep trying the true arena than just a congratulations screen.

-The levels are so linear it makes new super Mario bros seem expansive
Its a pretty game but this game just feels phoned in

Not that anon, but it can be a flaw if the levels aren't made as interesting. He's just stating his opinion on the game, nothing wrong with that.

>Kirby using superstar enemies as partners instead of the RtDL crew
>No sign of said crew at the moment

Still too soon to make bets, but I'm preparing regardless.

Robobot by a large margin. Hypernova was too gimmicky, the Robobot was put to way better use.

If you can reach a moon in the background in a Kirby game, chances are a HAL room is hidden in there.

Holy shit am I the only person who likes both Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot and thinks they're both good games? Honestly, they borrow so much from each other than it's like comparing Pokemon Colosseum to Pokemon XD, so the differences aren't huge.

>Bosses
Have to give this to Triple Deluxe mostly on the basis of PR's final boss being StarFox except for Heart of Nova, instead of traditional like all of TD's. Plus, PR has you fight Mecha Knight twice and reuses both King Dedede stuff for the clones and 3/4 of Holo Defense API is reused, Galacta Knight and Sectonia are also reused. Also, fighting Susie twice and President Haltmann using a similar robot to fight Kirby. While Triple Deluxe has reused stuff, too, it doesn't to the extent of PR.

>Level Design
Again, similarities abound. TD had nature and PR had technology. More of a preference thing honestly. PR was more creative with stuff like the ice level being an ice cream freezer and the music city level, rather than the stuff mario gets made fun of for, which TD kinda fell into to a degree, so I give this to PR.

>Minigames
Gotta go with TD. As much as I like Pr's, Team Kirby Clash is just standard mostly reused boss fights with stats thrown in, and 3D Rumble, while fundamentally good, is a little too simple to get any real mileage out of, especially in light of how long 3D games have been out. Kirby Fighters and Dedede's Drum Dash go into genres that are more of a breath of fresh air given Kirby's main genre, even if the latter isn't a very strong minigame.

>Superpower Gimmick
PR. It basically combined the Super Ability's variety with Hypernova's puzzle solving capabilities. The best of both worlds.

>Death
I'll give PR the slight edge because I'm biased in that Gurren Lagann's my favorite anime and it was easier to grasp what to do because it was the same screwing I'd been doing through the game. I got hit by Sectonia's beam once because it wasn't as clear as spitting back missiles.

>>383874014
Also, I'll add one more category.

>New Abilities
Not counting returning abilities like Jet and Mirror, TD. Not only does it have four to PR's three, but Poison is basically water with a new coat of paint, and it doesn't do a whole lot of damage to counteract its damage over time playstyle, something that water didn't have as much of a problem with. Beetle's like a Suplex that can do more than throws and one kicking move, Archer works well no matter where you're fighting from. Circus and Bell are just okay IMO, but I feel there's reason for people to like them. Doctor and ESP are a bit better than the two just mentioned, but only partially compare to Beetle and Archer in terms of fun factor IMO. Either way, both selections are solid.
