>World 1 is grass/forest themed
>World 2 is desert themed

>Level 1 is grassy forest.
>Final levels are huge grim cities or factories.

I have no fucking clue why OP's observation is so prevalent.
Any time there are thematic sets for levels or worlds or zones, the first one is almost always a woody forest area and the second one is almost always a sandy or craggy desert-y area.
What the hell is with that?
>first level is a snow level
>half the game is swamp themed

>they make you learn the controls with a sliding ice mechanic that doesn't come back for the rest of the game
>entire world alternates between ordinary forests and plains, maybe with 1 ordinary cave as the highlight of the day

>ice level has no effort put into the atmosphere
>just the grass level with a coat of paint
This is the world map with the best theme balancing. This is fact.

I wish more games would stick with one theme and explore it more.
>Ice/snow level has christmas themed music

The only game that gets a pass on this is Serious Sam TSE, because when the slow Jingle Bells turns into rockin' Jingle Bells and everything starts screaming its way through that canyon, you know it's gonna be a good day.

>every world in the game is just the grass level with a different coat of paint
