Neku is a good character and is well-written, so he takes time to develop.

The first week is kinda slow, you get used to your abilities, your partner is a tank and her healthpool makes your healthpool massive, and because of that you can afford to let her get hit while neku does work.

The game kinda shows you around the city and keeps you pretty bottled into small areas and how mechanics work.

Second week you get joshua, and hes really powerful, but you need to actually use him. Hes by far the easiest to use and the most rewarding to use, which is good because neku still isn't that tough, the game also gives you a lot of room and time to explore now so you can really say "okay I want to farm for X" and joshua will allow you to farm and trial different pins you want to see if you like.

Third week, the shit hits the fan, your partner has the lowest HP of them all and is the hardest to use, he gets hit every second and you're basically on a timer where neku really has to do work and you're expected to have farmed already or at least have taken a majority of the steps to making a finished working build.

The systems are really rewarding and I definitely recommend trying it and sticking with it till at least the end of the first week to see if you like it. Theres really nothing even remotely similar to it out.

Unless you play the mobile game, in which case the entire game is kind of haphazardly easy and you can just have fun doing whatever you want with neku.
