What are some games that can be played while listening to music or podcasts?
Stuff I've found that works for me:
- Risk of Rain, works quite well I think
- Race the Sun
- Dota, but it takes all your focus away, and you can go through whole albums without noticing
I know of stuff like Audiosurf, but I don't like it.
Diablo 2

But sure, I'll bite. For some games, muting the game and using your own 'soundtrack', so to put it, simply doesn't work. Those tend to be games that put a lot of emphasis of story, atmosphere, immersion etc.

Here's some examples where you would be missing out if you muted the game, or played your own music:
- Transistor
- Dark Souls
- Deus Ex
- Metal Gear Risingthis game has god tier music programming btw
- Metro 2033
- Thief
The are games which you should absolutely NOT be muting or substituting your own soundtrack.
