Yeah there's a lot of good ones. I suggest trying Hunter and Hunter Snowfall, they're pretty good with own story and shit.

I got the plat for the first, hated the second. Fav son is Hydrogen, cant remember name of the levels or masks

I got 100% on hotline 1, hell, i was even in the top 50 in some stages.
Thn i bought 2 and dropped it halfways. It just doesn't feel right

I thought so too at first but it really warmed, it's actually better because you can't abuse the game mechanics as much as you could in HM1, also less visibility makes it some what harder, more of a challenge compared to the first where if you held shift and walk about you can basically see the entire level granting you a sort of wallhack.

I kinda like HM2 on hard although I never finished it. I think that it sometimes has flashes of what the whole game should have been: just go in all guns blazing doing sick combos which you just barely pull off. HM2's quality is uneven but a more gun-heavy HM is a great idea. HM2 is just a bit too Kaizo-esque at times, in the sense that there's usually only one really good way to pull off the hard mode levels.
