i love racing games, i get annoyed when its blatantly unrealistic. that being said, lately ive just been driving in GTAO. invite only servers so not worried. the living breathing world really adds depth to the driving immersion. going 100% on dirt roads at night in FPV, screwing up and going flipping into a body of water where you can see fish swimming away from your impact and now youre drowning.....its awesome


ive done some wanagan and initial d roleplay, the highways and mount akina. it can seriously be fun. just pretend everycar has traction control stuck on and the driving is more believable

Dirt 4 has better physics and as realistic as dirt rally felt dirt 4 in sim mode is much less forgiving. And the best part is you can turn that off and just go fast and basically pull off movie tier stunts without wrecking your shit. It's an incredibly fun and versatile game. Well I don't know what you mean by "bland" it's a pretty good semi-sim, closer to full sim than othe rpopular games nowadays, it has really inmersive sound and the graphics are pretty much top notch (although it's not very optimised, I have a 6700K and a 1070 and on max settings it runs like dogshit, have to lower most of it to high/very high to get stable 60FPS)

The PC port is also botched like fuck.
Shadows rendered like 15 feet in front of my car at all times, framerate fluctuated with settings both on low or high, handling was terrible and a massive step down from MW and even Carbon, story made no goddamn sense whatsoever, music was garbage, etc. etc.
I actually had a hard time believing it was made by the same Blackbox as its two predecessors. The game was overall just very sloppy.

the french levels with ice on the road are really nice, and the cars handle more like an arcade game than like a sim. Meaning that you can just drift through most levels, especially on longer turns. Also the whole "small car high rpm" is true in dirt 3.

Truly AC is the best since they improved their AI issues. It is simcade with stability assists and can be played with a controller just as easy as any other simcade game.

Shift 2 with tire mod and TDU2 are okay too, but not comparable to where AC is at right now.
