Who was in the wrong here?
The cop. The druggie just wanted to live his life free of being antagonized by his brother, while his brother wanted to kill him simply for being a druggie and potentially ruin his career when he could have just offered help and used it as good PR.

I killed Derrick. It felt like a mercy kill because he was strung out on drugs and suffering from PTSD
Francis may have been a corrupt cop but I think he still wanted to do good, still seemed to show some semblance of wanting to make things better. The game tries to paint him as evil but I found I could often sympathize with him.
Niko Bellic. Does he necessarily have to choose one or the other? Oftentimes the moral choice is simply to walk away

Why do people like Derick not get out of the vicious drug cycle?
I finished the game, like, a month ago. Why exactly did they want to kill each other? I killed Francis as he's an annoying bitch but later read that I would've gotten far superior reward by letting him survive.
