First half of RE7 was pretty decent tbqh. Shame that the second half ended up being such garbage. Also the unskippable scripted sections ruin the replayabilty of the game. The first 20 fucking minutes of the game is pretty much an unskippable cutscene.

Today has been a busy Resident Evil day for me.

I wanted to try it to see how shit it was. Turns out, really bad, but what just makes it miserable is that there is clearly a fantastic game in here if more competent developers were in charge. Besides the awful lag in-game, the camera is easily the worst and most cluttered I have ever seen in a game. All the guns are interchangeable and the zombies are simultaneously overpowered and underused.

Just finished it (total 11 hours) again with my brother. I played Sheva. I forgot just how much I loved this game. Ithaca+P226 best weapon combo in the game. Tomorrow we're getting into the DLCs, though unlike the main game, we have never played through these at all. I'll be playing Jill in the first, and Josh in the second.

I'm just playing this one for the first time! I've heard so much so it's high time I actually played the thing. Currently at the lever for the Two Routes, where I got too anxious with indecision so I called it a night. Leon being completely unable to strafe or actually have a camera look is a bitch but I've been dealing. Surprisingly, just like RE5, each stage is, at random, a hellish slog of being underequipped to kill a single Ganado or a cakewalk where my inventory is getting constantly clogged with ammo and G+Gs. Not too sure if I like it more than RE5, yet. The game having a way uglier color palette ain't helping, though, and I have to admit I find the Majini way cooler than the Ganado :\

As far as multiplayer is concerned, the weapon variety is lacking. The maps are alright, but I wish there were more of them. Camping is a pretty big issue, but that's solved in the last minute (iirc) of the game.

The Knife is one of the best weapons in RE4, if you're careful you can knife a Ganado in the face or knee to but them into a stun and then do a melee event on them.

Had a boat load of pistol ammo and in general by doing that.

Also Leon's kick is equivalent of Stage 1 Shotgun blast damage.

You can also wiggle/rotate the stick fast when they grab you and you'll kick their head off killing them. But might kill your controller if your using one.

Resident Evil Remake and RE4 on PS4.

If you like Mercs, play 6. The PS3 version has RE.NET functionality (makes costumes easier to get), while the PS4 version has muh 60 fps. The difference in graphics is miniscule.

The PS4 has REmake, 0, 4-6, and REv1(in Sept) and 2, as well as VII
The PS3 has the best version of CVX as well as both Chronicles games and RE1-3.
I suggest you start with 1-3, CVX, REmake, 0, 4, Degeneration(movie), Revelations, 5 (including DLC), Damnation(movie), Revelations 2, 6, Vendetta (movie), then VII.
Later, if you like the series, get a PS2 for the side games, those being Survivor 1 and 2, Dead Aim and Outbreak 1 and 2

But if you want to get the experience of the classis but without the ass controls there is the remasters of RE1 and RE0.

Well, start with Resident Evil HD, I think you can get that on the PS4. It's a ground-up remake of the first Resident Evil. It still uses pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls but is probably the best introduction to the series.

Resident Evil 0 is a prequel in the style of 1 HD, but not everyone likes it.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 haven't been remade yet, although 2 will be soon.

4 is very good, and should probably be your next step after 1 HD. 5 is okay. 6 is crap.

7 is very, very good but a bit of a departure from the usual series.

I actually played RE2 a long long time ago. I was 8 or 9, and I have an older brother who was 15 at the time, he got RE2 and one time when he was at school, I tried it having no clue what it was. I got scared by the first fucking screen as the girl (Don't know her name just know Wesker and vaguely know Leon), I remember actually shutting off the PS1 and having nightmares for weeks. That's probably whu I've never played any horror games besides RE5, and can that really be considered horror? Even someone as big as a pussy as I am wasn't scared once playing it.

I adore RE2 even if it makes you replay the games a few times to get the story straight.

Scenario B is always my favorite.

They probably did have it, but a dog scared away the guy with the helicopter and all the other equipment. It was just supposed to be a routine investigation for them originally, so of course they only have pistols.

In RE2 and 3 it made sense. Leon was a rookie cop, and both he and Claire didn't know about the zombies. Jill on the other hand starts off with a pistol because the outbreak came out of nowhere. It really makes no sense on easy as that's implying she carried majority of the weapons in the game with her from her hotel to the building at the start.
In RE4, it's because nobody knew about Las Plagas.
RE5, they didn't know about the outbreak and were getting supplies at the time.
And in RE6, Sherry was just picking up Jake and didn't think the C-Virus would get there, Leon was on duty when everything went down, and Chris already had the big guns.

That's because REmake is one of a kind. A game like RE1 had the potential to be scary, but limitations prevented that from happening.
