I must have spent 40 hours each time I played that game, it's so chilled out.
I love the Japanese take on the North West.
It was terrible gameplay, but there was something about it being so basic, it felt really fun. Like early Runscape or something? Maybe it was just because I was massively depressed.

Silent Hill, Twin Peaks, Alan Wake, hell even Rambo makes me want to visit that area.

There seems to be a common misconception that only action (combat, platforming, etc) counts as gameplay, but strategy, decision making, simply building characters in an RPG, or exploring, count as gameplay as well and can be just as engaging if done well. It's just harder to do right.
