Every console has launch issues.
Nintendo just doesn't get a break from because they are the truest devs of vidya.

>4 threads of the same shit in one day
Are you fuckers really this desperate? Just because two consoles glitched out doesn't mean the switch is fucked. Get over it.
>>
>That looks scary, but Switch owners have reported this issue for a while, and it might not be totally catastrophic. It turns out that for some Switch users, once the battery reaches 1%, it doesn’t actually turn off. One person was able to play for an additional 30-45 minutes on 1% battery, with his total battery life lasting 3 hours in handheld mode. Another person said that they’d dealt with this issue since launch. One person I spoke to, redditor theseconddennis, also said he was able to play for a while until the battery shut off while on 1%. Today he solved the issue by turning the battery percentage display on and off, which worked for one other person.
>>
>>383756604
Why do you keep spamming that image?
The Switch barely has enough space inside it as it is. You're not going to downsize it further
>>
>>383756604
Not interested honestly. The screen would be too fucking small for a lot of games that have a lot going on at once.
>>
>>383759780
Not him but it's wishful thinking and I don't blame him wanting it. A console needs a D-Pad

To be honest, it would be better if it came with joycons permanently detached and not included. Those things are fucking trash. Could cut down on the price by not having them.

They're excellent at protecting the core of the system though.

It depends on the game. You get aout 3.5 for Zelda and about 5 for Disgaea 5. This is a battery issue any similar product will face and the real reason they had to make it as weak as it is. Battery tech is shit.

3 to 5 hours, but people act like this is the start of the apocalypse, the battery life is within an hour of the PSP, the Vita is inbetween both them, battery lives have been collapsing for years, battery tech can't keep pace with the march of processing power.

>i can get more than that out of my vita you're full of shit

You can do the same on the Switch if you play computationally simplistic games.

And what about the millions of other Switch owners not having this problem?
It's a vocal minority making a big deal over nothing
No one's going to make a video or write an article going "My Switch works fine, everything's great"
Those don't get clicks, those don't generate ad revenue
Nobody cares if you don't have a problem, people only care about issues
>>
>>383763395
This has been known about for months, it's a miscalculation on the Switch's part, battery still lasts within standard rates.

Go ahead, you can do it with any modern portable device, they don't get damaged. Just avoid doing any data saving when it's about to shut down. You can find smartphone instruction manuals telling you to let your battery drain once and then do a full charge to reset the battery counter.

>>
>>383756604
I own a Switch and I do kind of wish it could be a little smaller, but anyone who has actually played one could tell you this won't work. The screen on the Switch seems large, but it's already pretty much as small as it can go while still being usable. Text in games like BotW is already really small since there's no scaling differences from docked to handheld. a 5.1 inch screen literally could not work.
>>
>>383765029
While I get the appeal of MonHun, I'm not crazy about it's look/style. The closest to a MonHun game made specifically for Vita is Freedom Wars; Toukiden 1, Kiwami, & 2; & Soul Sacrifice, otherwise there's the PSP MonHun game available on PSN and I doubt it still goes online.
>>
>>383765852

It could be the actual measure for the battery life is inaccurate. It'd explain why >>383759704 happened. Sometimes out of the box, the system essentially doesn't know where 1% and where 100% is, so it might read inaccurate. I'd expect this to only happen once though because it'd calibrate after sitting at 1% for 45 minutes before actually running dry.
>>
>literally 2 people having an issue after not using the switch for months

I've noticed some weird issues with the battery percentage fluctuations wildly sometimes when the wife leaves the damn thing in sleep mode all night while its charging. Otherwise I haven't had many issues with the battery, I played ARMS today in handheld mode for about 90 minutes and when I was done the battery was around 43%, which based off of what I've heard is about right.
>>
>>383763395

When companies give out their estimate, it's usually with all features turned on, brightness at max, etc.. I haven't had a long handheld session with Zelda yet since I prefer it on TV, but I've gotten 4.5 hours out of Mario Kart, 5 out of Thumper, Cave Story basically takes nothing out of the battery. I haven't done Arms handheld because why would I but I imagine it would be closer to BOTW.

Why would you lock this to the pocket console. I mean, the normal Switch actually has the hardware capability to use a combo headphone+mic from it's single 3.5mm port like most modern laptops and phones (pic related, straight from Nintendo's spec sheet listing "Headphone/Mic jack")

Why do people buy games for this thing. I know two people who bought this shit day 1. And all they've gotten is remastered games. And they both said the same thing to me. "I just like being able to play the games I love on the go". But here's the kicker... they never fucking do. So they just wasted a bunch of money on the IDEA but never actually cared about the actual reality that they wouldn't fucking do it?

I find this to be the case with almost everyone who's all "handhelds are the best". They tout that benefit of play wherever, but never fucking do it. It's troubling because if this trend picks up then games are going to just keep getting worse. Because if you can just buy a fucking game because you think it's "comfy" to play it on a certain piece of hardware, then you don't actually care about whether the game is good... you just care about the "prospect" of playing the game. WTH?

Nintendo's actually better at making shit hardware that's no more than children's toys

Switch might be weak next to consoles (and PCs), but it's one of the most powerful consumer tablets on the market as far as GPU power is concerned. They're just not used to making something so high end, and they thought they could cut a lot of corners to keep the price down. It shows.
