She became really boring on a reply. I know she was there to brighten the mood, but the second game already got rid of the oppressive atmosphere of the first, so I don't know if her character was really needed, especially so when the sequel had a lot of characters that had a "gimmick." She also barely has any development.

I was just looking for a danganronpa thread. nice. I just finished 2 without playing 1. It was a really, really, really good video game. I feel like I would have appreciated the last 20 minutes a lot more if I had played 1 -- as it was as a standalone game, it felt kinda dumb having the "main cast" come in and make my characters irrelevant. I guess they referenced that directly and it's the second game in a series so fair enough. chiaki was my waifu all the way through, but wow sonia's ability is the best in the game

Probably. One of my favorite parts of DR2 is how it plays with your expectations and subverts the first game at times
