If I remember right, Pokemon MD offers you the chance send in a second team to bail out the first and you don't lose everything upon death.
I haven't played Chocobo dungeon, so I can't comment on that.
Shiren has the same thing as PMD, where you don't start from nothing if you die, doesn't it?
Isn't Diablo real time? That disqualifies it.
Although, in general, any roguelike that you actually have to pay for strays from the old hard definition of what a roguelike is.
