I very much liked it for the $20 I spent on it.

Combat is much more smooth and responsive then DS. Everything just flows much better, the downside is that there's only one play-style: Battlemage (emphasis on the 'mage' part can vary from a very small part of your build to a nonexistent part of your build. So not nearly as deep but what is there is better comparatively.

Story and Writing are reasonable (which makes it much better than DS1 in that regard because they exist, checkmate soulsfags). Art direction, while not as good as Souls is still quite good, but it's a shame because you spend 90% of your time in one castle and it's dungeon, almost no variety.

It's probably actually harder than Souls on an intrinsic level, but most people will have already played DS so it will be a relative breeze.
