Played it, half the bosses are gimmicks, you have to wait till their shield or some shit goes down which is really stupid.

I enjoyed it much more than DS3 cause the combat brings something new and fun rather than darksoul's dodge fest.
I wasn't really paying attention to the story, but it's nothing special, but I don't play these games for the story.
The game has like 5 bosses and that's okay with me, because they are (except 4th one) very distinct from each other and fighting trash mobs is fun throughout the whole game.
Only thing that is bullshit in this game is weapon proficiency, I wanted to start as a staff fighter, but by the time I finally found one I already had too much xp in one handed weapons and I did not want to grind.

Yeah, really hate proficiency. this made it hard to change playstyle. I'am also like you. used 1-hand through the game, want to change to staff but man staff hit like toothpick because I have 5 in staff proficiency while compare to my 21 sword proficiency.

Why bother? Like, I've played through and deleted so many saves at this point that I don't even bother making custom characters. Plus your character's head is probably going to get covered by a helmet anyway.

Because Deck13 has no originality. Not that Edge of Tomorrow was original either (AYNIK) but the exoskeleton and sword are practically 1:1 copied by The Surge. The only difference is that the sword became a chainsaw with the same silhouette.

Because souls games are great fucking RPGs in the sense of character choice and build variety, and that stacked with both the great armors and clothes available and the online elements, it would not just be a boring, disconnected way to approach the game, but you positively impact the game for other people with a character's aesthetic and make yourself memorable.

I enjoyed it. Guess my only complaint was the setting was fairly bland. Also the axe you get from one of the later bosses is OP as fuck. Had a hard time up until then after getting the axe I would just one-two shot everything.
