There's one thing i don't understand though - at the end of Default Ringabel returned to his world and seemingly saved his friends there, how comes she's dead in Second?

Honestly Second ended up being a way more focused game that preserved strong points of the original, gave a massive amount of world building and provided some nice character backgrounds so whatever staff changes they made, i wouldn't call them outright bad.

Now a shitty ost is a fucking crime.
