Did 2 expand the game beyond collecting purple crystals that are meaninglessly strewn about to fill up meters for negligible powerups/not very well thought out obstacle courses/20 or so missions that all too often devolve into fanservice instead of being about relevant shit.

Gravity Rush is fun fuckabout game and I'd love to play 2 but if it's just bigger 1 I cannot justify the purchase.

Also the gravity meter is far to generous. Either make it a real mechanic and something I need to keep an eye on or remove it.

I felt like SoulSac gameplay was very bland.

At end-game, the sigil system basically forced you into a single offensive offering to maximize your damage. That wouldn't be a problem in itself, but offensive offerings were basic as fuck and only had 2-3 attacks each. Maybe one more if you combined it with an evasive offering.

SoulSac's main draw was the lore and stories it told. The gameplay was always second to it in my opinion.

Its honestly a fun game but I wouldnt pay anywhere near full price for it.

The mechanics are fun but pretty damn shallow and control is pretty wonky. This is not fixed at all in the sequel, just flashier.

Why would they need to be moving clean water around that low in the city? They can't be pumping it up from the ground since they are floating in the sky. Kat is at the bottom of the island so there is no one else to be delivering that water to. Any water moving downward at that point is likely just getting dumped. There is a good chance that Kat is bathing in waste water or, in the best case scenario, runoff that is being drained from the top.

Yes, but there's no substantial revamp to the proceedings. You do unlock new gravity styles and there are new enemy types that suggest their use but in reality it's a slightly more diverse take on what Gr1 already accomplished. If anything, GR2 is effectively a super-sized helping of GR1. Biggest difference to be noted is that gravity kicks have been nerfed and stasis has been buffed to be even more broken than GR1's gravity kick.

Nah, the game itself was pretty fun. Story is so-so, I especially disliked the Marxism shit. Almost quit playing when they tried to make me steal fuel from paying citizens and smuggle it to the thieves.

Also the side quests were tedious as fuck, I stopped doing them entirely by the 4th chapter.

Literally the worst part of the game, same 2-3 mechanics reused with insultingly minor changes

At least it was something other than "go here and race around" for the umpteenth time like the original. I remember finding the displaced husband and wife and thinking there'd be a bunch of quests like them, nope, just races. And while they were fun to figure out the fastest routes through, it's a shame the original game barely gave you much to do in the towns.
