anybody else still play this gem
Maybe it's just me being a /v/ caricature but KOTOR 1 feels like it's made for 12 year olds. The stupid fucking star forge is the worst weapon ever, not because it's useless, it's just fucking stupid. The epic twist is that you're Revan is ok I guess but I don't feel like a brutal dark lord, I'm just some nonce who got mind fucked. A lot of the npcs are irritating spergs with Calo Nord or whatever escaping an exploding planet, the cat girl revealing that Talos was her home planet, the shitty fish people, the retarded alien on the last planet. Fuck you. Bastilla is the only bearable companion but only because she's best girl.
Korriban is cool, better than dark side fucking in 2
Murder mystery shit on fish world is ok
That's it, fuck you
>>383728734
It's aged, but I still think of it fondly. Still wish we had gotten a third game instead of an MMO.
>>383730379
>The stupid fucking star forge is the worst weapon ever, not because it's useless, it's just fucking stupid
>Literally the pinnacle of 3D printer technology, able to mass produce weapons, armor, robots, and even entire fleets of starships at a fraction of normal time and resources
>Stupid
>>383731075
Yeah, should have been another death star
>>383728734
I hated the robes, especially because Revan had a cape and you couldn't have a cape in the finale.
>>383730379
>The epic twist is that you're Revan is ok I guess but I don't feel like a brutal dark lord, I'm just some nonce who got mind fucked
Shouldn't that theoretically make you angrier because you were this great warrior who got turned into a nonce by mind fuckery?
>>383730379
>but I don't feel like a brutal dark lord
The dark side options are some of the most hilariously evil options I've seen in a game.
You can basically give a beggar enough money to start a new life or threaten him and everyone he ever loved for breathing your air.
>>383728734
TSL is the thinking man's starwars.
>>383728734
I think Kotor's great, but I'm really glad that Bioware ended up going with the universal translator idea for Mass Effect.
Reading dramatic dialogue to the background noise of wookies gargling at you for twenty minutes got grating after five minutes or so.
>>383731337
No it should have been a pair of edgy zombies.
>>383728734
I'm playing it.
Korriban was my last planet, is it true that you can meet that redeemed twi'lek sith chick on Dantoine?
>>383730602
>2nd game has an unsatisfying ending that leaves lots of room for plot development
>instead of completing the trilogy they release a shitty MMO loosely based on the previous games years later
It still hurts.
>>383732073
yeah, but I think you need to go to Korriban first because the game forces you into story progression and Malak nukes Dantoine
Sith Lords is better in every way.
Just like Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
>>383732435
Yes, I can't return, that's why I'm asking.
>>383732423
Lucasarts hated that Obsidian introduced morally ambiguous themes into starwars. They bullied them into releasing an unfinished game and made sure they got an 84% metacritic score (they needed an 85 to receive full royalites).
>>383731471
Some of them are genuinely dark and not goofy though, likekilling Mission by mindcontrolling Zaalbar.
Garbage game.
>>383730379
>Maybe it's just me being a /v/ caricature but KOTOR 1 feels like it's made for 12 year olds
I agree with this but you're almost completely wrong.
>tfw can't make myself to play as a dark sider
>>383728734
It's shit. It doesn't even work on steam with the cinematics.
>>383732704
>IT WAS LUCAS' FAULT OBSIDIAN OBSIDIAN'D THEIR GAME
>>383733030
How can you agree with him and claim him wrong at the same time?
{spoiler]Kreia?[/spoiler]
>>383732704
>fallout new vegas is a half finished turd
>it's bethesda's fault!
>dungeon siege 3 is unfit to be pressed to a disc
>it's microsoft's fault!
>alpha protocol is an unfinished, glitch-addled catastrophe despite 3 increases in budget and 2 deadline extensions
>kotor 2 is a 3/4 finished turd
>it's bioware's fault!
I'm sensing a pattern here
>>383733469
FNV isn't really half-finished except for the shit tier bugginess at release.
They didn't release as much content as they wanted, but all games have cut content both in concept stage and development stage. Obsidianfags really put too much importance into this.
>>383733469
kotor 2 in it's unfinished state is still better than kotor 1. Bioware can only create disney tales of enormous social justice because that's what they are.
Dungeon siege? Alpha protocol? What's that?
>>383733883
>kotor 1
>enormous social justice
Fuck obsidian forever for getting dungeon siege killed with its pile of trash third game.
>>383732898
Yeah, some of the end-game evil choices are less cartoonishly evil, and more straight up cruel.
>>383732073
>>383732435
No shit? I had no idea, I always kill both of them for XP/drops. You're talking about Yuthura, right?
>>383735306
Yes.
I though I could leave the plant without getting part ot the star map, but was forced to Leviathan.
>>383735579
Yeah that screwed me over last time too, I was trying to finally do all the party member specific missions in one run (I had literally never finished the shit with Griff or Bastila's mom prior to this run because of lockout shenanigans like letting the wookies take over Kashyyyk) and I intended to go back to Dantooine to wrap something up but they blew it up. I had forgotten about that.
>anything before the Clone Wars
>>383728734
Everyone did.
>>383732704
That's bullshit. There was nothing in kotor2 that wasn't in the movies except for Malachor. Lucas just wanted a quick product while Obsidian wanted to create a masterpiece.
>>383737543
>anything made by disney
>>383735874
Korriban is hilarious as the last planet because you tell everyone who you are and no one takes you seriously.
>>383738518
Yeah I wish that they had made that a winnable influence check, would have taken a bunch of dev time to re-do something that almost nobody would see but damn if that wasn't disappointing the first time around
>>383738518
Nobody cared who he was until he put on the mask.
>>383731471
This. Getting Zaalbar to kill Mission was one of the most satisfying evil choices I've ever done. The only misstep is that you have to use Force Persuade rather than just reminding him of his life debt.
>>383739010
>rather than just reminding him of his life debt.
I think he'd probably ditch it if you were psychotic enough to have Mission killed.
I enjoyed KOTOR 1 more than I did 2. I liked the supreme comfiness. Fuck you.
