What buttons does the PS4 have over the Switch?
Also, it sounds like an attempt to make his game more deep and complex when it really probably just has retarded unnecessary controls. CliffyB is a known faggot in video games these days.
>>
The Switch actually has more buttons than the PS4 controller. It should actually be illegal to be this retarded.

????????????
I don't even own a PS4 or Switch, I just know how to count here. I know the touchpad usually acts as the select button in a lot of PS4 games, but that only just makes it even with Switch.
I counted even non-gameplay buttons like share and home since both have it.

>>
>>383731289
Maybe the weapon switching is mapped to the touchpad or something? I have no idea about this game besides the fact that it's apparently a shooter.
>>
>>383727094
I thought the Xbox One controller had the same number of buttons as the Switch controller. What extra buttons does it have?
>>
>>383731537
I lnow games like killing floor have i dividual mapping per weapon per key bit that is aj advantage of keyboars

Shooters in consoles usually leave the swapping to the d pad unless they are ussing the d pad for somethine else and even so there still r1 l1
>>
>>383731735
Or combo mapping
D pad alone being something
And holding a shoulder trigger changes the effects of the d pad

Again, you literally cant ran out of mapping options unless your game is a clister fuck
>>
Everyone focusing on the amount of buttons of the ps4,but if you read what he said Xbox one is possible yet I am pretty sure xb1 and switch most likely have the same buttons
>>
>>383727094
I just noticed something that makes this even dumber.
>We could probably make it work for the Xbox One in some way, right?
>But if you're looking at the Switch the base controller, that's on the unit, it doesn't have as many buttons
This isn't the guy saying that it has less buttons than the PS4 controller. This is the guy saying it has fewer buttons than the Xbox one controller, a controller that's literally identical to it, aside from the Switch having a screenshot button.
>>
>>383731328
>>383731338
Which requires additional effort to have it work with the game. Nintendo is definitely going to ask them to add on the gyro aiming functionality for their console, and if they do it for the Switch but not on other consoles, the players will bitch and make them add it in. And we all know game developers are lazy people that's never willing to put in extra time/effort for zero monetary return.
>>
>>383727094
What the ...? How many buttons this shitty game needs ??
>>
>>383731958
>nintendo is going to ask me
They have no asked anyone anythinng singe wii era retard
>>
>>383731958
Switch controller isn't really different from the other controllers, isn't wiimote where devs have to make another one just for it.

Also Ninty never really forces devs to use any gimmick that they have, they literally gave just a shitty excuse.
>>
>>383731958
>Nintendo is definitely going to ask them to add on the gyro aiming functionality
But they didn't do that for anyone in the Wii U era, which still had shooters on it.
There were several CoD entries, and Watch_Dogs, on the Wii U. Both of them have shooting controls, and neither of them have gyro aiming.
>>
>>383727094
Switch doesn't have 1 fps in its collection, why start now. Especially this game which is probably 60 fps and hella fast paced. Switch can barely run zelda or a warriors game so a fps is outta the question. They probably just don't want to come out and say it up front.
>>
>>383732025
But they will, because Splatoon has proven how well gyro aiming has worked for shooters. They would be crazy to not ask the developers to add it in. They can refuse, but the players will be constantly asking them 'Why the fuck not?'
>>

>>
>>383732112
>>383732120
I did say 'ask', not force. And if the developers refuse, it would be their fault if the players bitch at the lack of said functionality. After Splatoon, the fanbase would be wondering why isn't it using said gyro in the first place.
>>
>>383732158
They never really force devs to use some gimmick, there some games that don't use gyro as >>383732120 said, a lot of 3ds games don't even use 3d, and there is VOEZ on switch that isn't playable on docked mode.

It's up to the dev not Nintendo.

Except, they wouldn't be? Because everyone has accepted by now that that's something that usually isn't going to happen in games?
You could say the same about all console shooters, really. After Splatoon came out, I wanted PS4 shooters to use the gyro, too, but I accepted that that was something developers don't see a point in programming, despite the added accuracy. People aren't going to bitch, they're just going to wish it was there. And it's a piss poor excuse anyway.
>>
>>383732796
Switch have 2 buttons on each side of joycons. I think that ARMS use it if you play with separated joycons.
>>
>>383728843
You forgot touchpad, which counts as at least 1 button and at most 4.
>>
>>383732831
I'm just saying, unlike other consoles, which never made use of the gyro, Nintendo did. The Switch fanbase will be asking why isn't it in since they already had a game that's proven how effective it is. If the developers cave in for the Switch, they will need to cave in for the other consoles, and good luck trying to implement on something that was never done in the first place. Which also sets up a precedence that all future shooter games might need gyro aiming functionality after that.
>>
>>383733354
That precedent is already set with the 3DS and Switch now. A shooter on the Switch will be expected to use the gyroscope.
>>
>>383733046
ARMS doesn't use them except when playing with single joycon held horizontally. As far as I know, no game so far uses SL and SR as well as L/R and ZL/ZR buttons at the same time. I could be wrong though.
>>
>>383733161
If you want to go that route, the Switch has other 'buttons' in the form of the motion controls i.e. Arms and it's blocking, punching and such.
>>
>>383727094
Does this game use the PS4's touch pad or what?

Also if you are using the touchpad as extra face buttons you're fucking doing it wrong. Might as well drop consoles and make simulators for keyboards
>>
>>383733464
Exactly, which is the real reason why it isn't coming to the Switch. Gyro aiming is expected and they can't justify the extra effort into implementing it across all of the other consoles.
>>
>>383733507
Do you really want motion controls in a shooter?
>>
>>383727094
our guy cliff b know switch is a POS

>>
>>383733539
Like this anon said >>383731289
If you need all 16 buttons, you had gone full retard.
>>
>>383733653
Not that guy but I want them for aiming, yeah. But that's not what you're talking about right?

Still, I don't think I'd want to use the PS4 touchpad buttons either. Is this game actually using them?
>>
>>383733653
I'm just saying, the Switch has more than enough 'buttons', so their excuse is pure bullshit.
>>
It's not like the game is completely shit right?
Did no one play the alpha or beta?
Game is doo doo and the class balance is piss poor.
>>
>>383733587
Then Nintendo should make the libraries for adding gyro support to your game so easy it can tacked on. Nintendo players expect a feature, and while the onus is on devs to add it, devs can just as easily skip a console so if Nintendo wants games they need to work with developers.
>>
>>383733653
It worked very well on Wii with Metroid prime and Golden Eye well as CoD or even RE4, i'm not talking about waggle but Aiming. Even then there is gyro to help, which is optional.
>>
>>383733653
Gyro controls are objectively better than analog sticks for aiming
>>
>>383733653
>reach to chest for knife
>reach behind yourself to switch guns
>reach for hip for grenades
>switch these around as needed
Could be neat.
>>
They also said that they can make it work for Xbox one. How are there more buttons on this controller than the Switch?
>>
>>383734140
Maybe they're thinking about the XBOX ELITE.

>>383731410
>Switch controller have IR aiming
The right joycon's IR camera is sticking out of the BOTTOM of the joycon; it's not intended to be used for aiming, and as far as I know no games do that.

>>383731472
The PS4 controller doesn't have an IR camera at all. If you're talking about using the PSeye camera, that's useful for tracking the position of the controller, not its orientation.
>>
>>383734235
>The right joycon's IR camera is sticking out of the BOTTOM of the joycon; it's not intended to be used for aiming, and as far as I know no games do that.

Gyro is worse than a mouse but a million times better than a stick
>>
>>383734140

>>
>>383734389
Gyro aiming can simulate IR aiming. The main difference in use is that gyro aiming isn't restricted to an area like IR aiming which allows for greater movement, but gyro aiming can be thrown off if moved to quickly and may need to be recentered with a press of a button.

>That means we could probably make it work for the Xbox One in someway, right?
Right? No. just how does this make any sense whatsoever? It barely makes any sense with the PS4 already. No one wants all the corners of the touchpad be used in any high intensity setting.
And the Xbox controller? You've got to be joking. The Switch controllers are in no way lacking.

Just admit you don't want to do gyro or want to avoid Nintendo as a whole.
>>
>>383735140
You should if you're posting on a video game board.
>>
>>383735003
That's the problem though. Without IR to tell when you are pointing at the screen, you'll have to manually reset it after a while. We'll probably never see gyro FPS on the switch for that reason. I guess Prime 4 is going to be a regression.

>>
>>383737345
>That and I'm almost sure there's going to be an accessory that looks like Samus's arm canon that pulls this control scheme off perfectly.

I haven't paid attention to the switch since launch. Did games with packaged custom joycons theory come true yet?

Also I think nintendo learned they hated doing that shit with the N64. You can't raise the price of the game to pay for the included hardware like the rumble pack and expansion pack. So they just eat it.
>>
>>383737578
Well, there was the Entire Wii think with gorillions of accesories and controller skins.

But I guess this time Ninty is just going slap new joy con colors, unless Harmonix ports RB to Switch or someone make another controller.

They could have easily just said either
