I remember MK4 gave everyone moves that snap various limbs, and the receiver just shakes it back like that would fix it.
Special mention to Reptile, who snaps the opponent's neck 180 degrees, which the opponent then gets up from (mostly) unscathed.

MK9 is the greatest MK game. it's all the best elements of the classic games with a solid fucking roster to boot.

MKX has perfected gameplay but the roster is a played-safe heap of shit.

the classics are good, and Mythologies: Sub-Zero is a guilty pleasure.

all the 3D games are terrible, don't let anyone tell you different. only play if you are an absolute hardcore MK fan and dedicated to playing them all.

Actually, I'm not even a fan of Mortal Kombat, but I've played the games from time to time, not enough to call myself a fan but enough to know a poor design when I see it. The lips aren't needed, and they only serve as fetish fuel for virgins who can't stop jacking off every hour.
