Initially, that's how he became a producer. First Kitamura left. Then Fujiwara left. So now they figure Inafune's been with the series for a while, maybe he should be the producer for the games. Then in the early 00's, Inafune was producer for a series of hit games, including Onimusha, Battle Network series. These are genuine hits, so it makes sense to give the guy a promotion right? Then he's producer for Dead Rising, Lost Planet, big hits. More promotions. He seems pretty good at this, so why not make him more than a simple producer? He keeps rising.

It all made sense at the time because all his past successes were great.

He's an idiot. He thought that Crowd funding was just an infinite bank he could get money from. He didn't realize it works a lot like a publisher where they expect results and won't fund you forever.

Everything Inafune has done can be explained by "Inafune is a fucking retard".

I think he's decent as an artist/producer. That's where he should have stayed.
