It's a bit cliche but it's tolerable.
The Untolds are good not because of it, but rather that they give new maps and some enemies.
2's story is much better than 1 though.

I'd rather not have to deal with throwing away a useless grimoire after every battle. Also "don't use it" isn't a very good argument because that shows it's a completely broken and unintuitive system. Presentation is important.

Floor Jump destroys immersion and makes the labyrinth feel much smaller and less dangerous. Also one of the challenges of EO is being able to manage resources effectively and having a sturdy party that can last a long trek through the labyrinth, floor jump effectively says fuck you to that. In all fairness it is avoidable but it's a feature that shouldn't be allowed on Expert. Also floor jump replacing geomagnetic poles in Untold 2 is fucking stupid.
