I'll also admit that the core gameplay of Warframe is good enough to warrant engaging in that feedback loop for some time. I played the game for fifty hours before fatigue set in, you hit the paywall, and realize that there isn't much more to the experience then stylishly sliding your way through grunts. I imagine that many other people here had a similar experience and that's why they don't play it anymore.

But shit man, Plains of Eidolon is looking good, and I just heard that they finally added Banshee Prime. I'm considering going back for a bit.

Anon, games end. This is a pretty difficult concept for people to accept when a game has no ending, but it still is true. You don't need to be upset that you no longer want to play a game after sinking so much time into it. I don't WANT to play for 10,000 hours. To me it's just the total lack of content.
It has like 4 map type of copy pasted rooms, like 4 different enemy types with little to no variety, and because of the F2P aspect they force you to grind this shit for decades to get anywhere.

I can happily grind in games like Diablo 2 because I know it won't take me long to get a new item, or even a new skill. In my 60 hours or so of Warframe I played with the same frame and used like 3-4 weapons because all the interesting ones were locked behind paywalls/immense grinding.

It's a shame because it has a pretty nice base with some pretty satisfying fast paced combat. But it being F2P just kills any chance it has, both because of the grinding, and because in the end it's numbers and not skill that determines how well you succeed.

Did they ever add the 4th enemy faction?

It's not the grind that makes Warframe bad.

It's grinding without a real endgame. You have infinite means of min-maxing your weapons, pets, frames, and mod cards without a real ceiling of achievement or status. The game has a half-dozen systems for pet raising, drones, weapon rebirth, and affinity shuffling without a finality.

Top this grueling system for perfection off with a bloated and looming cash shop and you've a game that does a poor job ever disguising it's whaling nature for people to throw small fortunes of money at under the illusion they're attaining peak equipment for the hardest content at any point in time before the next dump of items with no pauses inbetween.

The game doesn't value your time whether you pay or not, and the direction the developers have for it changes wildly with such a great uncertainty that you never are 100% certain whether your time is being spent efficiently. If the PVP or competitive features meant a fucking damn, this would perhaps be even more hard hitting than I make it out to be.

I just burnt out trying to stay clan-relevant and be able to participate in the latest swarm beatdowns for the chance at the latest mods for a few years now. The game is the epitome of a journey without end or closure. The story content marginally makes up for those shortcomings but if you're planning to play the game for some length of time until you come out with a comfortable build that you think will stand the test of time while you work on another suit or set of weapons, you're going to get the rug tugged out from under your ass on the regular by adjustments and a constant power creep from newly added equipment and mods.

Warframe is all grind and no social structure, despite all the special skins and customization they offer which ultimately is a personal taste. The hubs players gather in tend to be idling ghost towns and are ultimately shallow attempts to alleviate a game inherently designed for lobby play.
