I don't get how people don't get incredibly bored of this game.

The combat encourages turtling due to the openness of the maps. The map itself, while not ugly, is just buttfuck nowhere Ukraine or some shit and feels more congealed than designed, which isn't good for a game that's supposed to be competitive. The random nature of the circle decreasing means that certain more interesting areas get the shaft, like the underground complexes. The vehicles are the same for practical purposes, since there's nothing interesting, being all unarmed.

It's competent enough at what it does but what it does is just so boring. I can't really think of anything that's unique about this game besides the meme catchphrase for when you win.

If I were to redesign it I'd change up the map so it's less rural hills for fucking ever, and more terrain variance. This is supposed to be a death game, and there's an artificial death field. You can't say that people who organize such shit wouldn't be able to make an obstacle course island. You can still tell a story by intermixing what used to be with the modifications made by the game organizers. It would be pretty unique, all things considered. The combat itself is fine, but the map design is so hideously lacking in imagination that most combat is either sniping at each other from a third to half a click away, or camping in a house waiting for somebody to walk in front of your gun.

But no let's just have DayZ if DayZ didn't suck hairy unwashed balls.

The comparison isn't, at least as I would put it, one that's meant to be kind. It's like calling story based games walking simulators even though they're not designed to be simulators for walking, but they end up being easily described as such.

DayZ is a complete failure of design. It's meant to be a post apocalyptic environment where a universal threat either pushes people to work together or fuck each other over, for the purpose of survival. Ultimately, this is never, ever the case. It was only ever the case in the early days of the original mod where nobody knew what was going on.

Pugly was designed to be a battle royale game, a fantastical gladiatorial competition with guns and energy fields, yet look at its similarities to a shitty zombie game that fucked up on every level.

The map is fucking boring. The mechanics are functional yet uninspired. It wasn't designed to be DayZ, ever, yet it reflects the worst parts of DayZ where you wander around fucking nothing taking potshots at other dickheads with whatever shitty gun you found until eventually you end up camping in a hole, behind a tree, or in a house. Then you inevitably die. The only difference is that in Peggle you actually win instead of continuing to waste your time on a bullshit game.

The point isn't that it was supposed to be DayZ, it's that the worst aspects of its design are shockingly familiar, and really should have been seen in the early stages of development. Pawg isn't shitty; it's mechanically sound, and it works, but that's the minimum that should be expected of a game. It has no right being as much of a meme as it is.

I got my $30 worth out of the game and enjoyed it before i got bored.

90% of the games throwing a grenade is a single button press, in PUBG it's switch to the grenade, hold left mouse, and then either release or right mouse for a underhand throw. If you switch off the grenade after the pin is pulled it will drop to the ground and explode, if you die after the pin is pulled it will drop to the ground and explode. This feature grew on me. After fucking up throws and killing myself trying to bank off windows I learned that just getting a nade in a room is enough to clear someone from their camping spot. Nades hardly kill but when they do watching someone fly from the force if the blast (amazed they are still alive) and die after landing is still one of the funniest things I've experienced.

Game is a lot of fun, then again I never played a battle royal game before, only hungergames mod on minecraft but that doesnt really count. It is kinda repetitive but in the same way other multiplayer games are, counterstrike or a moba or just as repetitive. You can still git gud at it so there is still a sense of progress. It is a lot of fun especially with friend, you can play extremely seriously or just mess around a lot. When you reach the last circles shit gets very intense. I would honestly recommend this game to people that dig multiplayer and enjoy playing with friends. Its mechanics are very solid, the bullet drop, shotleading at a distance etc. Some things are still very clunky like driving and jumping but everything is stil being fixed and worked on very actively. It was very much worth the 30 bucks, Im at 70 hours and will play a lot more

Yes, unfinished. You wanna know how I know it's unfinished? Because it's an Early Access. That means that it's in development and you will witness how it's refined until it comes out. That's the whole point. If the "finished" product remains roughly the same, then why the FUCK would it be released as an Early Access, besides the NEED to milk money before the game is even finished?
