>X-Com
>Get called out to check on a fishing village in rural Canada
>Almost immediately encounter zombies
>Zombies are a symptom of Chryssalids (pic related).
>Chryssalids are complete cunts to deal with. They do insane melee damage and a ridiculous speed stat that allows them to close the distance on you, and can inflict poison.
>On top of that, if they kill somebody, it turns them into a zombie (who also does unreasonably high melee damage), and the zombie spawns a baby Chryssalid (that is functionally the exact same as an adult) in 3 turns if you don't put them down first.
>So you go through the town mopping up zombies and 'lids which is a challenge in and of itself, to you find that there's a nest of the fuckers in a whale carcass on a ship.
>Have to go onto the ship to call in an airstrike on it.
>At which point 'lids start spawning out of the whale carcass
>Then you have to conduct a tactical retreat, while being pursued by 'lids that move much faster than you to escape.
It's basically impossible to get away without losing at least one guy, but you're more than likely to wipe your whole team because they're just that tough.
>>383711013
A mandatory dlc mission in Xcom Enemy Within. High HP zombies everywhere and fucking filled with Chrysallids(they turn your bois into zombies), also later goes on a timer when you call in a airstrike and you cant just sacrifice soldiers. Its a really hard mission where more than likely youll lose someone

>>383709647
>>383712221
Controls across all three games were modified so there would be consistency in how Crash handled when you played the first game and how he handled in Warped.
Unfortunately, the controls were based on Crash 3's mechanics, which were suited for Crash 3's style of platforming. The most noticeable thing about this is Crash's mid-air momentum and how his air speed works.
In the PS1 version of Crash 1, you had two instances to add speed to Crash's jump: when you actually jump, and when he does a front flip in mid-air. So you could jump from a stand still, hold forward, and Crash would kind of boost forward in mid-air when he flips.
In Warped (and thus the modern remake), Crash's air speed is incredibly dependent on your running before your jump. It also has the quirk that if you stop moving in mid-air, you just kind of drop down. So the intention was that you would jump forward, get over the spot you wanted to land at, and let go of the stick. If you stopped, you lost speed, and the only way to get it back was to run long enough to get back to max speed and jump THEN. Crash has a hard time gaining speed mid-jump, after all.
The problem is that Crash 1's platforming was dependent on this ability to generate speed in mid air. More than a few people have noticed in the remake that on The High Road, if you stop on certain turtles and don't keep going, you've fucked yourself. You literally cannot generate the speed that normally would have been possible back on the PS1 because the ability that would make bouncing on a turtle and then going when you feel like it possible, the mid-air boost from the front flip, is no longer a function. If you let go of the front stick at all during jump chains, you screwed up and made it impossible to actually make the gap, because you can't gain speed again until you touch the ground.
tl;dr the jumping mechanics are all based on Crash 3's mechanics and that doesn't work well for the previous two games

The jumping physics have only been a problem in like, the first game. They shouldn't be a problem anywhere of course, but in the entire game there are only three levels where it felt like the physics were actually fucking me over (both bridge levels and like, one cortex bonus round with tight jumps).
Other than that the new physics are pretty compatible with the old level design.

Hell, I only beat the grocery guy because I had the mini chainsaw with me.

There is a actually a trick to this.
Mary is made so that her AI remembers how fast you were going the first time. Basically if in the first race you mash and go as fast as possible the game will remember your time and have mary go faster. The trick is to go as slow as possible the first time then on the second race go fast as fuck.

Tales of Vesperia.
Gattuso is arguably the hardest boss in the game. Comes really early - he's the third boss so maybe 5 hours or so into the game. He's a 21 level boss, with most players beating him around level 17-20. Thing is, you can encounter him as low as ~12. Blocking is basically worthless, he's got two adds, him and the adds are poison element, and he's surprisingly fast. If you don't know to stock up on items earlier or have the right moves or use free run a lot he can rape you over and over again. So commonly a piece of advice will be just set the difficulty to Easy for the fight and switch it back after. It doesn't help that he has an optional completion benefit as well where you have to lure him to a flower and hit it to stun him with its pollen.

story is like dealing with some shit you are not prepared for, which usually falls into "ride the wave and hope for the best" scenario, almost like "reader reading the book" type of narration, but with your occasional input to make thing go better for some important characters. Very much character-driven story, full of engaging dialogs with both friends (or are they really?) and enemies.
Gameplay is mostly running from one spot to another w/ occasional fighting off agressive NPC (amount of fights drastically increases along with survival needs), also leans towards survival / simulation elements with lots of looting, regular resource management and certain NPC groups reacting to your presence according your reputation/chosen player character etc.
>>383720474
A lot of the gameplay is walking from place to place and unveiling more of the story. However, later on, there's a lot more action and absurdity to break up the walking. There's also a heavy emphasis on resource management, but the terms are a lot more easier to understand than in say, The Void (another game by IPL). It's fairly straight forward to understand the economy of things. You can ask citizens about how things are going (what's more available). Basically survival is, trying to make rational decisions with your own supplies and sacrificing the citizens towards your ultimate goal (if you're playing as the bachelor). Pathologic has a lot of interactive story elements that can change the course of your campaign. A lot of the consequences of things aren't realized until later. Hope this information helps.
